Can only bet. Good on them. Captain don't need do drama on his team. Trade Miller - NewYorkNuck
Let's hope that Drury has recently read Benning's biography. |

In my opinion, this freefalling mess the Canucks have found themselves in started when they gave a middle six grinder top player money. When Miller signed that great contract (he should have, good for him), the hockey world was like...."WTF did I just see!?!" Even Miller himself went public saying that he didn't feel that he deserved it but he will try his hardest to live up to it, again...good for him.
But when the elite players on the team, with so much more skill and such higher ceilings (Boeser, Petterson) see this, and see how much attention this middle six grinder is getting, they will sometimes tend to withdraw. Then when Miller, trying his best, becomes more vocal and is just trying to motivate the team, the top guys are like "dude, just who the f do you think you are? I skate circles around you all week long". Now there's some trouble brewing.
So now Miller is pissed off because nobody listens to him but he feels like a leader (he's paid like one), but he doesn't have the skill to back it up. The top skill guys are basically jealous and annoyed at this middle sixer bossing them around, and the MOST important aspect of all of this is that their team captain (who is totally and utterly amazing) is f63kn 20years old!!! Now you have the superstars whining and not skating and the "leader" who is significantly overpaid struggling with guilt and identity issues.
This is a situation that could have been cleaned up quickly with a captain or leader that would just tell them all to STFU and play. I thought Tochett would do this but sometimes it's just a players issue and the coach's voice doesn't land. The Oilers had a very similar situation with Horcoff trying to lead a group of young superstars that did not respect his play at all (I'm sure they respected HIM, but when your capitain/leader is the 4th or 5th best fwd...it has to come from somewhere else too).
Anyway, that's what I see with the Canucks. I would trade Miller (the mental stuff will likely persist, unfortunately) and stick with the skill guys and wait for Hughes to start leading. Meanwhile you'll get pretty decent players for Miller. - JLO961
Miller is a middle 6 player?? What a bad take man. EP is highly skilled but has Zero motivation skills. He’s massively overpaid. Miller wants him held accountable.

Serves him right.
One month was too lenient. |

At least nobody on here has fallen into that trap. The entire Canucks organization could learn from the measure of level headedness found on this thread. |

All true. There are a few on here that actually know their sh it. Which keeps me engaged as well. That, and the comedic value of Reuby's takes. |

Rutherfords success in PIT spoke for itself really but his final few years there were pretty ugly and their fanbase was calling for his firing. My only concern with Rutherford when he was hired is he had a history of giving away massive assets when he gets obsessed with a trade or bringing a player in. He and Alvin are going to try to fix this mess that you can be sure of...just a question of what it's going to costs the franchise at this point. - LordHumungous
He was the same way in Raleigh, kind of. He built two teams that made it to the Cup Final in 02 and won it in 06, but everything after that was kind of just throwing things at the wall and hoping something stuck. |

That's gotta be one of the worst trade proposals I've ever seen. If you're trading Petey to Montreal you're asking for Nick Suzuki in return and telling them to add to that.
You know, speaking strictly of points production, thru Nathan MacKinnon's first six seasons, 456 games, he had 402 points. Thru Pettersson's first six seasons and 35 games this season, because he only played 26 games in 2020/21, Pettersson has 440 points in 441 games. He's actually outproduced MacKinnon offensively.
Petey could explode offensively given the right circumstances, getting rid of the problem child Miller, in the coming years. |

Happy NY everyone. Pouty needs to go asap. He isn’t liked by players or management. Anyone that defends this diva is an absolute beta tool. PA can’t let this drag on and needs to make a move asap to save the season |

Personally I don't really care if either one is traded, or both of them are traded, as long as they get quality in their return. |
