Retooling isn’t rebuilding - Slimtj100
Trading Trouba Kakko Goodrow, possibly Lindgren Carrick Vesey Jones Uro Borgen Kreider Smith etc isn’t a retool. It’s a rebuild |

Youre crazy. Replacing half the offense and 2/3 of the defense isnt a rebuild. |

I’m shocked it took him this long. our left side SUCKS and he’s the only guy who gets scratched. This after never getting a real shot over the years - picklerick
He has every right to complain. He deserves time over most. That being said he looks no better than a 5/6 dman |

Ok suppose for next summer they are free of money from- Trouba, Kreider (or a portion of it), Lindgren, Miller (I think he gets traded,
Jmo), potentially Zib (or a portion of it)…with that money for arguments sake you sign Provorov and Ekblad on defense…and get a center via trade or UFA. That’s a retool. Point is i don’t think they’re punting the next few seasons. This year yea it’s like a 70 yard punt. But they’ll have money next season to do a pretty big makeover. A rebuild is not signing anyone. They’re looking for new core pieces imo

He should complain to his parents for making such a small human being. If he was 6 inches taller he’d probably be playing every game. And 20 lbs heavier |

Yea and Lindgren sucks lol they need “defensemen” it’s blatantly obvious for a couple years now. Big ones or at least harder ones to play against. I imagine getting hit by Jones is like getting hit by a gnat at the beach
If you wanna believe Jones playing every game makes us playoff bound go ahead lol but I’m not losing sleep over this as it’s just one more thing to complain everyday about |

Defense UFA next summer is pretty deep
Ekblad
Provorov
Gavrikov
Orlov
Chychrun
Pionk
Fabbro
McNabb
Petterson
Ceci
Cole
And it goes on with more guys. There’s a lot of guys to potentially go after that are better then what we currently have |

The point I was originally making is that our entire left side sucks and the only one who gets scratched is jones. He should be upset. He should run from here as fast as possible. He’s never been given a real shot |

I find it EXTREMELY hard to believe that Florida lets Ekblad go. |

If Buffalo is truly considering shopping Byram, do we have anything that we could offer up? |

You could be right
But the UFA market is pretty good for defense for a retool back there. The Devils just did the same thing with Dillon and pesce. I think if you fix the defense, our offense gets better by default since we’re not constantly defending the whole game. That’s the biggest problem we have, we don’t have the puck and by the time we do the offensive players shifts are over. They rinse and repeat the whole game |

Issue is UFAs get overpaid most of the time. Hard to build a team with mostly UFAs.
Edit: hard to build a winning* team with mostly UFAs. |

What about Samuelson? He’s kind of injury prone but he’s lefty, big and young. Byram seems like a pipe dream |

Although I agree, but this team is so nuclear toxic it might be the only way. |

Its definitely a pipedream, but Buffalo is probably looking for a RD. Maybe a D swap? Byram for Schneider+? |

Would you do Kreider for Samuelsson? I didn’t realize he was signed so long. That’s nuts that Buffalo has Dahlin, Power, Byram and Samuelsson all on the left side. And 3 of them locked up for a very long time
They should take Fox + for Byram |

Why trade Fox when you can trade miller for the right partner to play with Fox. Fox is 26 he’ll be fine moving fwd |

I’m very worried we’ve already seen the best of Fox. He’s already slowing down and he makes a lot of money obviously |

He’s slowing down bc of a bad current season for his standard? He’s 26 still. Had 73 points in 72 games last year. No major injuries. He isn’t Lindgren who is 26 going in 40 bc of the injuries. Nobody on the team looks good this year. Not a reason to move on from Fox imo
If they did trade Fox get an elite center. Not

What are you taking about? His knee? He hasn’t been the same since it was twice injured last year
I’d be willing to bet in like 2-3 years from now he’ll be a shell of himself (like Lindgren now) |

That’s not a major injury. No surgery required. Missed 12 games last year. He’s missed 17 games over 5 years from injuries. That’s not bad at all.
Has the knee injury affected him? Don’t think it has tbis season. In the PO sure. This season he’s just regressed like everyone on the entire team |
