I don't understand why both must go. If it's a power struggle, wouldn't they just trade one? It does feel like enough smoke to be fire. Imagine Friedge hears from sources from other teams that Canucks are shopping, not necessarily hearing from Van that they are shopping.

Petey is a quiet introverted kid from Sweden, he made an easy target for the bully Miller. People stepped in a told him to knock it off. Things have been resolved, they both just need to step up to the plate and deliver. That and fix the awful defense.

I don't remember that, maybe though. He wasn't as great in the playoffs (bad bounces, injury)...

However, both your statements can be true. Fans are idiots, and he might have helped keep things together in there. Clearly the locker room leadership isn't the same as it was last year, and he was one of the better spoken and highly regarded vets.
