I mean Trudeau will hang on to power for as long as he can. It really depends if he keeps sucking Jag'smeat.

NDP also know they will never have this kind of power in the next 20 years, that skews their moral backbone.

- Fredo

Liberals might stay in power if somehow the NPD acts like you're implying. It's possible.

But Trudeau is gone. The liberals have a meeting today and they'll force him out if they have to.

make the most out of this last week! i'm home today too. drove to work but it's snowing like a mother(frank)er and even though they knew it was coming, not enough roads are treated. i got a few blocks away and said (frank) this and turned around. what will the roads be like later if they're like this already?

it's like we've forgotten how to deal with it. 6 inches of snow used to be no big deal here. the roads were treated, then the plow trucks were out, and we were fine. now 6 inches of snow is a big catastrophe that they can't get out in front of.

I think, in general, we were more prepared for snow 20+ years ago because we had seen a lot more of it in years past - cities and people were prepared. But as snow falls started to dwindle (climate change), governments looking to cutback services, and snow management was one of the areas that was hit hard in a lot of places.

They can likely still manage most basic snow removal / clearing, but I do not think many cities are capable of efficiently managing massive snow storms anymore.

Well there's a couple of factors that changed things also, one is truckers, even municipal employees avec logbooks and can't blitz hard like they used to do.

There's alot more environnemental laws in place, you can't put snow in temporary sites anymore once the snow is loaded in a truck it's considered a polluant and has to be transported to a regulated snow removal sites and cities had to close a bunch of those that weren't up to norms either.

Densification also makes it harder, there's nowhere to put the snow anymore in cites, so alot of streets where they used to blow the snow on the private properties now have to be transported, which takes longer.

Pretty sure the legislation is not so stringent in the US, or most US major cities.

But yes, off-loading to more contract type companies, with their lack of truckers / people is likely an issue too, given they are gig workers, not retained employees for the most part.

Yeah everybody is fighting for the same employees. It was hell two years ago but seems like the shortage is not as bad now. If they are qualified that's another thing.

Well usually they started hot than crumbled during the holidays.

They started flat, now they have Laine back and the trade for Carrier made them peak recently, I think they can ride that wave for a while. Dobes is doing well. All is there for them to play with confidence.

I think it has more to do with the fact that the majority of the teams in the East are poopting the bed.
