Monty has played better of late, for sure, but his overall stats are middle of the pack (maybe top 15-18 in aggregate) vs goalies that have played at least 15 games.

His career has been consistently inconsistent - going on hot streaks, but also streaks of poor play. Not gonna argue with you on how I do not see him as the long-term answer, we have had this discussion too often.

As for Dobes, I just want to see what he can do... is he really as good as he has shown? Would like to see him get more than 1 start every 4-5 games.

meh, I was just kidding, at this point I simply find you have a stubborn bias for one reason or another against Montembeault, but it's all good, to each his own.

anyway I agree with Dobes, I'd be comfortable playing him against any team right now, the sample size is very small but he's been great so far. can't wait for him to have a bad game so that fans can run him out of town again, as they usually do with any goalie that isn't lights out every single night.

The guy is just so big in the net, sometimes it reminds me of a giraffe in goal or something. His positioning looks solid and his glove looks good.

good point... apparently he's the complete opposite of Primeau personality-wise, the latter being kind of shy and reserved while the former is way more outspoken.

his technique seems definitely solid, obviously I don't expect him to keep this pace up forever but I'm not expecting him to fall drastically either, I have a hunch he might turn out to be great overall...
