Maybe it makes up for Tolvanen a couple years ago. This is the perk of being poopty in the standings where you’re low enough to get diamonds in the rough potentially

I was thinking maybe this is why he did trade Kakko. Like had an idea that Kaliyev would be on waivers soon because the Kings had to do something with him. I read a tweet saying no one was biting on trading for him

Had Drury traded Kakko to LA for Kaliyev and a mid pick I think we’d have been okay with it. That’s probably a deal that was discussed pretty extensively.

Nice enough. Hawks did their usual refusal to get the puck out of the zone and Rangers capitalized.

They could discuss Seth jones for Zib. Zib will have to get traded and we’ll get something pretty bad back contract wise. So it’s a catch 22, but jones at least plays defense so that’s attractive. But he’s rh which is kinda what we don’t really need. We’re desperate for LH guys

This was my deal last year lol for which I got yelled at for La probably would’ve been in the same bind with Kakko as they were with Kaliyev. They have a poop ton of forwards worthy of the NHL playing time

Yea probably. And this isn’t meant to be racist at all lol but I get Keandre miller from him a bit. Like a little lazy, soft, doesn’t use his size as well as he should

My point is we can all want zib gone and that’s fine, but the chances are high we get a pretty bad contract back if we do. We may have to ride it out with him and hope he gets fixed at some point.

It's really weird with Jones. He's not lazy, and he's not really bad. He's just not worth $9.5M. If he was closer to $6M and they didn't force feed him minutes like they were trying to make fois gras he'd be fine.

Still can skate, and I like his shot. Just not great at denying entries (some say it's because he doesn't move well laterally, I think it's just that he can skate his way out of an issue) and he tends to struggle a bit when he turns and tries to retrieve pucks during a dump in - although that could be because the Hawks forwards don't really make themselves available or support.

Glad they grabbed him, they had nothing to lose by grabbing a 23yo winger.

I’d hope he plays right away although idk if he’s been off the ice with injury. Hes barely played all year, AHL included

that’s sounds like Trouba. Where isn’t terrible necessarily but just wasn’t worth 8 million bucks. Was a he pre covid signing? That seems to be the case with certain players where that really hurt teams on the cap being flat for a couple years
