A decent effort vs a cup contender in WAS.

Imagine OV breaking Gretz's record and snagging another cup in the same season?

Wowza.

Bouds on the Miller/Petey thing:

“I’ve never experienced it to the way that this has got to the press — something in Vancouver where it’s just persisting,” former Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau said in telephone interview Monday. “Obviously, it was there when I was there, and it’s been consistent over the years.

“But I never understand it. I’ve been on teams where there are teammates that you just don’t like and you don’t go over to their houses for dinner, or whatever. When it comes to the rink and you put that jersey on, everybody is on the same side.

“That was the case when I was there. It wasn’t a question of Miller and Petey liking each other, but if something good happened, they hugged each other. And, for the most part, they played on the same line for crying out loud. But the more we make out of it (the disconnect) the worse it is in my mind.

“There’s no doubt there’s friction because the personalities are so different. The alpha (Miller) can control the room, but one of the great things when I was there was (Tanner) Pearson being a real conduit.

“He sat beside Petey and was a really good friend with Miller. He did a lot of smoothing things out. I don’t think they have that one guy like that anymore, maybe Tyler Myers.”

Seems like some of those voices from last year might be missed in that regard.

The plus side of getting to so many OT games is they're competitive in a lot of games despite all the injuries and missed games from anger management and pouting.

The second and third periods were actually good last night for the Canucks, they held Washington to just 18 shots on goal for the entire game. They need Petey back. Hopefully he's done crying in the corner?

Meaning there isn't enough balls in the room to tell Miller to STFU and just play hockey. Fuckin psychopath.

EP would have been manhandled like their captain was.

Let's be clear, there's not enough balls in the room OR on the ice.

Apparently Wilson challenged the Canucks bench after regulation. No takers.

No, this is a complete myth, you're just piling on about something that doesn't exist because it's the flavor of the month. No he's not strong and he doesn't fist fight but he grinds in the corners and wins a lot of 50/50 puck battles, his possession numbers are good and why he generates so much offense. Teams backoff when he has the puck because they respect his puck skills. He has 219 points the the past two and a half years in 196 games playing against these big teams.

There are approximately 750 NHL players playing in the league, Tom Wilson could beat the wheels off of all but five of them. Stop being such a drama queen, no one in their right mind wants to take a beating from one of the toughest guys in the league.

Surprised Miller didn't fight him because he's such an alpha

Wilson is a monster, he's tough, and he has 18 or 19 goals this year. The guy is a one-off. You need a meathead to fight that kind of guy, which the Canucks don't have.

I hate to say this, because it doesn't happen very often, but Reuby is right, for everything Allvin and Rutherford did right last year, they completely missed the ball with this years defense. It's a HUGE question mark and a complete failure on their part.

This season is a write-off, it's been dysfunctional from the beginning. They need a huge do-over this off-season. Getting rid of Miller is, or should be, priority one.

Sad that Tocchet is the only one on the Canucks bench that could feed Wilson his teeth.

Miller or Desharnais could hang in there with Wilson. Not about 'taking' a beating but step up for your teammates FFS. When Dubios dumped Hughes he should have been swallowing blood.
