I hate to say this, because it doesn't happen very often, but Reuby is right, for everything Allvin and Rutherford did right last year, they completely missed the ball with this years defense. It's a HUGE question mark and a complete failure on their part.

They dropped the ball for sure. Myers' and Soucy's regression is really being felt as well. The team hasn't played well as a whole defensively... but basically trading Cole and Zadorov for Desharnais and Forbert is a big step back.

It's not just the Canucks, it's 90% of the league, but, the teams that do have "team" toughness (not necessarily fighting) usually are successful. Vegas has a pack mentality, as does Florida, they've won the past two Stanley Cups.

It feels like Myers is playing up to 5 on depth chart and Soucy is like a 6 maybe. The rest are like 7-8 guys. With Hughes and Hronek as 1-2, really feels like we're missing guys in 3-4 spot. That is with everyone healthy too, so the depth was never set up for success.
