Not that I would trust anything that comes from Eklund, but his big Montreal trade post is intriguing. I could see us being the 3rd team in a big deal like that provided we had a little more cap space. |

This team is so soft it’s embarrassing. - Brownsoldier
I’ll never understand DOC doing all the work to get in on the forecheck then not taking the body and just poking his stick at the puck. Dude just sucks. |

It may be super early, but this period should be a message to Dubas on whether we should completely sell off now or change things up with the objective of pushing for the playoffs.
We are a step away from a top 10 pick we could really use. And I don't think we have any chance of winning any playoff series against any team the way we are currently constructed. |

The push at the moment should be to make the playoffs. We will never know the real “as constructed” team because Sullivan will not ice the best team, and he doesn’t put players in positions to get the most out of them. Getting DOC as far away from Mike Sullivan should be priority number 1 at the moment. Tomisino, Pull Harvey, Nieto should all be upgraded, or at least get some meaner guys with the same base line. I hated the Hayes move but I think he needs to play in the top six, his puck skills and hockey smarts are there even though his cap hit is not good. Lizotte needs more ice time, he should be centering the 3rd line. Mike Sullivan being fired would be the best thing for this organization but that’s just pipe dreams at this point. He’s the new Lindy Ruff and we all know how that tenure turned out for Buffalo. |

That Sens game was a travesty. I'm certain he hasn't changed his mind about selling, but they completely no-showed against a team they needed to beat. No excuse for that. I think they'd get swept in a playoff series.....especially with these tenders.

I would be perfectly happy if we did push for the playoffs, but frankly there aren't enough players who are good enough or care enough.
I agree with what you are saying. I've been on the fire Sully train longer than anyone. We need big changes but we don't seem to have the juice or the GM to make it happen. So at this point we should full sell. |

He needs to get his butt in gear and start selling though. He completely misplayed his hand on Jake last year (imo). Waited until he got injured and had to trade him for a less than worthy package.
He needs to at least trade Pettersson now before he gets injured. Buntings value has been rising and now he reminds teams that while the talent is there, he might not be composed enough to get a team to gamble on him.
He needs to ditch Ned now so we can not screw with Musharovs development any longer.
Time to race to the bottom and give us our best shot at some lottery luck for a top 4 pick. Shaffer, Hagens, Martone, Misa... One of those guys would get the retool going in the right direction. |

Look at what Detroit has done with a coaching change as a prime example. |

I’d push hard on rakell. Even retain if need be. He’s tied for 10th in the league for goals shooting at an unsustainable %.

I'm torn there with Rackell, but I'm definitely not retaining on him unless we are getting at least a 1st and 2nd coming back.
Even though he likely doesn't put up these numbers without Crosby, he is a reasonable value as a top 6 winger for $5M with some term. Especially with the cap taking another solid jump. |

Trading Sid's top wing two years in a row? That might be tough for the captain to swallow. It would definitely help the tank though. If you move Rak, Bunting and Petts, I'm pretty sure we'd finish bottom 5. They would check out. Might as well keep the same $hitty tenders to cement the tank.

Might very likely finish 5-10 last with all those guys anyways. Petts especially will be a loss. If we can get something decent for rakell I would. Every year he gets older and doesn’t put up similar numbers he is harder to trade. The cap space can also be weaponized again afterwards for more value.
If we continue to flounder till the tdl id be working on him. |

I don’t really see selling off good players for picks to be a priority at the TDL. Not while Sid and Geno are still kicking. |
