Weird move, don’t get sending Berard down unless it’s just a paper move

On the bright side, it wasn’t Lyshyscnenenen called up

Nothing against Berard, he’s been good since he’s been up but has cooled off a bit. Not the worst thing in the world fr him to go back down for a few games then come back up. See what this kid Groulx is about, former 2nd round pick, plays with an edge.

How does a player have AHL numbers that good and NHL numbers that bad. Maybe a late bloomah like Howden

Thats not happening. Still far too many issues on this roster.

As far as Mika playing "better", I find it quite a coincidence that all of a sudden hes actually shooting and battling after saying he would waive his NMC for the right situation.

The eternal optimist in me says they haven’t hit their peak yet like last year where they hit maybe too early and ran out of gas. If anything they’ve conserved energy so far this year lol

It’s good vibes around the team at least. It hasn’t been a fun year at all for them Id bet

If they get consistent good minutes from Miller and Borgen that would do wonders

Borgen has been a bit of a surprise. Expectations were obviously very low there.

The only thing is Drury announced when they were 12-6-1 that he was open for business ready to make moves and change up the core. I don’t think he is letting a win here and there change his plan now. They are still under .500 lol. Still see them as big sellers by the trade deadline

Maybe I am wrong, but I have noticed Mika playing better when Kreider went out on injury. Starting to wonder if his back affected his game/responsibilities, which then affected Mika’s. He just looks different after Kreider went out.

Well, first off, Kreider is not a 1st line LW. Ive said it a hundred times here. Hes great at skating up and down the ice, retrieving pucks, penalty killing and tipping shots. He is NOT a guy you want with the puck, hes the last person you want to see with the puck on a breakaway. The funny thing is hes got a decent wrist/snap shot, never uses it. Hes not a playmaker, hes not going to elevate the guys around him. Unless hes in front of the net, hes zero threat.

Zib has pts in 5 straight games so maybe hes turned a corner. Previously he had one pt in what seemed like 20 games

Since the report came out on the 30th/31st saying Mika will be willing to waive his NMC, he has points in 5 straight games.

Boost that trade value.

I’d still very surprised if he’s gets traded. Whether people like it or not

If what we believe is happening, and Drury wants to build his own squad instead of working with an inherited squad, then Zib and others will get moved at the deadline.

Im at the point where Im actually curious to see what hes trying to do.

If he went out and traded guys like Zib, Jones, Lindgren, Vesey, Smith and added guys like Xhekaj Lauzon etc those “types” of pLayers, my opinion of Drury would change drastically. But based on his track record on trades, I’m not holding my breath.

Im certainly not holding my breathe, but we got what we got and at this point, Im curious to see where this goes since its unlikely he will get fired.

We did the toughness thing already. Toughness doesn’t equal defensively responsible or forechecking. Get those qualities. If they happen to be guys who hit and/or fight great. But fast, high energy, defensively responsible are all more important

What toughness thing? This team is softer than baby poop. The Reaves thing? I’m not talking about a plug. I’m talking about toughness throughout the lineup, all 4 lines with guys like Trochek Cuylle Berard Schneider etc. Not everyone hs to be able to fight, but just be able to play with that edge. Our top 6 is probably the softest in the league. You see the difference when Rempe is out there with other teams; they notice and it’s uncomfortable for them, Rempe just needs to get better and not take dumb penalties.

We’re basically saying the same thing it appears, except I think rempe doesn’t add anything anymore
