My family has been cursed with cancer on my dad's side. I lost him to metastatic lung cancer in 2001 and was with him as a caregiver in his final year. He defied the odds and successfully fought it for almost seven years after they first told him that he had six months to a year tops.

One thing I have learned is that cancer is a weird disease and outcomes can be fuzzy. A certain death sentence might turn out to be wrong (like my dad), or a cancer that is "beaten" might come out of remission later to suddenly pop up in a different place (also like my dad).

There were high times and low times. It was a (frank)ing roller coaster. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I hope your mother in law has one of the better outcomes. Maybe she's a tough old bird and will fight this off for a while and have some good times left to live.

Ok, sorry for the Lightning digression. Leafs have the better overall team and the Bolts are not a real threat to them or anyone else unless Vezina Vasi reappears suddenly. We haven't seen that Vasi in a long time, so I don't think the Bolts are a serious contender this year unless Vasi steals it and he's shown few signs of that so far. He's been solid, but not elite.

Good news is, it pushed Boston back into the wild card spot and Tampa leapfrogged them again. Tampa still has five games in hand on the filthy bean eaters.
