What a useless observation. What does Tippet have to do with Guathier? When Tippet gets hot and pots 15-20 goals in the second half of this season and ends up with 25+ goal while Gauthier hits the rookie wall that they all do and ends up with 13 goals on the season, will it matter then? - jd250
how did tippets rookie year go? how about his 2nd year?
Cutter was never nor expected to come into the NHL and dominate as a rookie. if he finishes with 30+ points you build off of that. do you know who he plays with the majority of the time?
you rip on posters for hating on Danny yet you do the same with Cutter. Give JD 2 more years to see if he pans out. Meanwhile Cutter isa bust after 45 games. |

The comment points more to how Tippett has regressed this year versus how good of a player Gauthier is now. You just got done telling another poster to not assume something now here you are assuming that Tippett will score 15-20 goals in the 2nd half. Just more hypocrisy and you contradicting yourself - MJL
has he regressed? or is this just the type of player he is in the nhl. |

Yes the players took shots at Quitter. Again, what is wrong with that? Quitter deserved everything he got. Torts should be commended for not fueling the narrative, and letting the players handle it.
What I find interesting that no one on this forum has mentioned, is how badly Gauthier handled the situation. How he lacked even a little compete. This has been the knock on Gauthier, he's great when things are easy, but as soon as things get tough he cowers. You all saw it firsthand on Saturday. You also saw how well Drysdale handled the moment. I told you all and will tell you all again, the Flyers down the road will be very considered lucky that Gauthier demanded a trade. - jd250
Oh yeah. Cutter handled it very poorly and somewhat cowardly. I don’t wanna hear he’s just a kid. He’s a young man, a professional hockey player in the greatest league in the fave of the planet. He will make millions. He made a man’s decision to demand a trade, he made a man’s decision to say what he said and not say certain things. Likewise, he demonstrated that he couldn’t or wouldn’t handle the pressure in Philadelphia. He was weak. Like someone said, some players thrive off the hatred (Crosby comes to mind ever since he was a “kid” and I remember Hextall used to love the “Heeeeex-talllllllll” chant). I expect the Montreal fans will rip in to Michkov and I’m sure he’s gonna score a goal and taunt the fans back. Cutter looked like a word used to describe a lady part, or a cat, or a willow the other day. He needs to grow up. |

Briere did sign a goalie. He signed Fedetov, an unproven goalie to a 2 year contract for 3+M a year. So you're wrong there. You're also confusing not being able to make moves with making a conscious decision not to make moves. They haven't because their own past incompetence is preventing them from doing so. They don't have the cap space to make any considerable signings. When they do, they will and it will be the same old same old. The Flyers were not primed to make the playoffs. They were realistically out of it and Briere tried to re-sign Walker. They traded him because they couldn't come to an agreement. There is no reason whatsoever to give this team any benefit of the doubt. You're telling people to stop assuming and then doing the very same thing. You're assuming they're going to do it the right way when all the signs are there that they won't. That's what you do. - MJL
I don't think they try to resign walker, but more of seeing what he was asking for, as for signing feds to a 3 mil 2 year contract was just to get him to come over and see what he has. The 3 million was because from what a few ppl have said is that feds need to make more over what he at the time was currently getting in the khl.
Again not disappointed in that decision, because this season and next season is a rebuild and doesn’t really hurt anything.
6 picks in 2 rds, and will add to that I would assume come trade deadline.
Danny is not doing a bad job, maybe he not doing what some fans want or consider the better way to rebuild. Personally I like what he has done for the most part( except if it's true they got offerd a 1st for laughs, I would have pack his bags for him)
Think about it they not even in a 2 year rebuild with danny .
He only been the gm for what 17 months give or take a moth
Let's see what's coming this off season, we all should have a better veiw good or bad on what the plan is

He apparently (rumor but when did that stop fans) said he didn’t want to play for them but wanted to be drafted by the Flyers. At least that’s what I remember. |

Yes! Exactly! It's called giving people a chance. My point is Briere has done nothing to contradict his statements. Fedotov was a 7th round draft pick by Hextall. He became available so the Flyers got him here. That was the price to do so. This was not a free agent signing. I prefer to give people a chance and then judge them on their actions and results, versus assuming wrongly that just because Hextall and Fletcher screwed up that Briere will screw up also. |

No! MM told Montreal not to draft him because he didn't want to play there. He wanted to be a Flyer. I have learned apparently this happens a lot more than we think and its happening more frequently than in the past. |

The entire thing is being massively overblown. His entire team for some reason was non-competitive in the game. Then they go out and beat one of the better teams in the league in the Canes and Gauthier scores 2 goals including the game winner in OT. Its simply growing pains of a young player. I understand that Flyers fans are bitter but I think they need to get over it

Well, and this maybe nothing more than hearsay, but as I posted I heard from someone I trust that Buium told the Flyers not to draft him. Not sure if its the agent relationship or maybe Buium is a friend of Gauthier. I was also told at the time that this happens a lot more than we think. Take it for what it's worth. |

More hypocrisy. Gauthier doesn't get a chance. Only the people you favor. It's ridiculously absurd how unaware you are of how you contradict yourself.
The problem is that you're unaware of Briere's statements and what they mean. Both Briere and Jones have come out and said they're going to keep doing what the Flyers have always done. You're just not aware of it.
You just got done assuming Tippett is going to score 15-20 goals in the 2nd half of the season. LOL

1. They 100% tried to re-sign walker. To say otherwise is pure denial.
2. No issue with them signing Ivan. Coming off a good Russian career. Short term deal that won’t affect the future. Now if you want to question the Euro and pro scouts that is fair game as so far, they seemed to have missed.
3. The 6 picks don’t mean that much when you look at the Flyers draft history. Looks good when they push that narrative. Rather they trade some of those picks for young NHL players or nhl ready players. Those picks are years away.
4. You say he isn’t doing a bad job is not a good endorsement. He sure as hell isn’t doing a good job.
5. Don’t want to hear he has only been on the job for 17 months. He was assistant GM prior and is very familiar with the organization in terms of what they have and don’t have. He has really done the minimum IMO. Has he added any young players to this team? Please don’t give me JD as his hand was forced.

You have no credibility. Multiple times you have used fallacies and hearsay such as you talked to a coach, or talked to a scout. There is no publicly reported information that Buium told the Flyers to no draft him. If that was the case, it would've leaked out by now. It's worth nothing |

He got rid 3 of 5 players i wanted, he pick up picks, and from every rumor mill out there that he looking to get more picks come trade deadline, and his patience with not really doing much to make the playoffs, he just letting the course ride out
What I don't like
Is i would have fire the powerplay and goaltending coach, regardless if trots likes it or not. I would look at the medical staff and see if adjustments can be made and upgraded.

They were drastically outshot, out chanced in both shot attempts and scoring chances and lost 6-0 but you say no way. Their coach called a time out to rip the team because of it. LOL
