EP40 has had a knee injury for over a year and there is data to support that it is still bothering him. Hurting, even if it only takes you 10% off your game, can affect your mental. It can make it hard to stay engaged or have the confidence to make the kind of plays you would usually make. That's my thought on the stretches where he hasn't been as good. There is also the whole social media thing which is well documented.

Considering I believe they want to win and be competitive, you’d have to think they’d want Sillinger back as a start. He’s a center who’s only 21 but he’s already played 261 NHL games, plus, he’s a bit more of a puck distributor. His foot speed isn’t great though. Add a young right shot defenceman and a pick and perhaps you’ve got the beginnings of a deal?
