Sell high. But have the Canucks ever sold high? It seems this franchise always holds on for too long and by the time they do sell, they have caused the value to decrease. - Reubenkincade
Probably sold high four times in their history, but I don’t know if that’s a lot or not? |

I always think of him as a cap dump but Allvin did pull the wool over the Flames eyes on that one, didn’t he. |

Sure did.
Maybe trading Big Bert is another example. |

Just of the top of my head,
Linden for Bertuzzi, Mcabe, 3rd
Sundstrom for Mclean, Adams, 2nd
Dan Quinn & Garth Butcher for Ronning, Momesso, Courtnal, Dirk
Curt Fraser, for Tony Tanti
Bertuzzi(kind of, he already was post Moore), Auld, Allen for Luongo, Kraijcek, 6th
I'm sure there's more, but they usually hold on to players past there "best before you should trade me" date. |

I wanted to trade him at the TDL instead of resigning as well.

Ish...acutally yeah, if we're putting Bertuzzi for Luongo, then yeah, Horvat is a good one. |

Change Iafalo with Yager or Lambert and I think you’ve got a fair deal. |

If they trade Pettersson they're going into full rebuild, something they don't want to do, and, they will probably see Quinn Hughes walk away into free agency in two years because of that. Allvin was obviously pissed off when he spoke about the nonsense going on in the locker room but he was really unserious about trading Petey IMO.
Trading headcase Miller on the other hand, now that's a different story...Miller must go. |

Pouty for MacKinnon and Makar would probably be more along the lines of how you greatly overrated Pouty. |

Pouty’s rookie season stats are 30 points more than either player’s best season
Plus, those draft picks are terrible considering Winnipeg’s a perennial top team during the regular season, so those firsts are so late in the round you could consider them seconds. |

This is true, but it shows what other fans think Pouty may be worth. |

No, I'm just of the opinion they don't want to go into a rebuild with Quinn Hughes in his prime. And, although Perfetti is a nice young player, he's a 14 minute a night guy on a very good Jets team. They don't need a bit player. They need a 20 minute a night difference-maker/top line center or they're taking a step backwards. The picks are meaningless, they don't want to be Buffalo in a perpetual rebuild. |

It's not that those kids couldn't be great players at some point, they'll (Perfetti) never be as good as Pettersson IMO, it's that they aren't interested in starting over with Hughes in his prime window over the next five years and he's only signed for two of them.
If you're trading Pettersson you're getting a top line center back who's ready to help the team immediately, not in a couple years. They don't have a couple years to waste. |
