I thought Drysdale as okay. First shorty was all on him w a lazy cross ice pass to TK on the blue line. He then made a really good play that setup a goal. With Drysdale it feels like on step forward and then one step back. The kid has skill but really needs some type of consistency to his game if he is ever going to progress. - Flyfly
I look at the players overall play in the game rather than just one mistake.

The Flyers top pairing got absolutely crushed last night.
Ristolainen was 50% on shot share, xGF% was 38.22 Scoring chances were 8-4 Panthers.
I said earlier that I thought Zamula was the Flyers best defenseman but I'd actually put him 2nd. Drysdale was their best overall D man last night. The rest of the D, although they had the toughest matchups got it handed to them last night. The Flyers lose that game 9 out of 10 times. - MJL
The Flyers dominated the final two periods, outshot the Panthers and held their scoring chances down until the final few minutes when the Panthers pulled their goalie. York and Sanheim had a rough game, but Risto and Zamula were the best defensive pair for the Flyers last night. Drysdale was awesome on the PP, but he and Seeler were an adventure in their own. These stats mean nothing when evaluating how an individual or defensive pairing performed! |

Those passes happen….it was his back check that had me shaking my head. Some things are controllable…effort being one of them. - landros 2
They do and he made a nice play to setup a goal afterwards. Said that in another reply.
Drysdale is a frustrating player - you can see the skill but just can't seem to find consistency. I dont know if it hockey IQ or what to be honest. He has taken some small steps and you just got to keep putting him in all situations.
You lost a 5th overall pick so it would be great if they can get this kid on the right track. |

How do you know that? How can you possibly know that? You have no way of knowing that now.
Tippet is currently not worth his contract. He is trending backwards. He is a goal scorer that is not scoring goals at a high rate and his overall point rate ranks 9th on the team. He is not a player that should've been signed to an 8 year deal. - MJL
trending backwards using a small half season sample size. on pace for 48 points slightly lower than last year. on pace for 22 goals. 6 less. Not a huge diff.
that being said he is the quietest "30" goal scorer I remember in a long time. not a good contract and def not a guy you build around. |

No, they need to decide on Cates this year into the Summer. Not two more seasons. He is an RFA after this season. If the Flyers thought that Tippett was ready to break out with a 35-40 goal season, that is an indictment on their player evaluation abilities. Signing him to an 8 year deal was a mistake. - MJL
Again the signing goes back to Torts affection for this player…he becomes giddy when referring to Tippets future. Says he just scratching the surface. |

That's incorrect. It's fair to say that the Flyers had the better of the play in the 2nd period and took it to the Panthers pretty good but that is not true of the 3rd period. The Panthers had the better of the play in the 3rd period. The Flyers just capitalized on a breakdown by the Panthers. Ristolainen was not good last night. He was mediocre.
I'm already aware that you don't like facts. They're antithesis to your biases and badly flawed eye.

Drysdale is going to take time. We as Fans are going to have to live with these un even performances. You can see his raw skill set…he needs to put it all together and that’s not happening over night. |

He has shown some flashes in some games. He was good last night. He can be good a few games but overall mostly poor. He is a project for sure.

Huh? So you think the Flyers will succeed, but by luck and in spite of Briere - jd250
Yes exactly. He lucked into Michkov. He lucked in to possibly a great goalie in Zavragin. He lucked into Krug not waiving his no trade. He may be more lucky than good. |

It's sad that the best things that have happened have been lucky and the rest is incompetence. That we have to hope there is more luck in the future.

Bridge deal…2 years X 3 mil…. This is my guess today….if he goes the next 20 games with no goals…my thinking might change. I think you wait to see how the year plays out and sign him in the summer. No rush. - landros 2
I see it being more because a multi year deal will eat into his UFA years.

He’s been pretty good since he came back from injury but when he has made a mistake it has ended up in the back of goal. Better goaltending would help. |

That's funny, I've never in my entire posting history offered a coaching credential or even implied that I was a coach. I'm here every day and I welcome any challenge you may offer to my positions. It's not something I need to be concerned about. You won't though. The above is all you got. - MJL
You are breaking your self imposed suspension of replying to me. Check your notes. If you can’t see the sarcasm here then you’re dumber than I thought. Just last week you were boasting how you study offense and listen to coaching seminars. Lavy and someone else. If you’re lifting the self imposed suspension of yourself let me know I’ll brew some medium roast. |

Lol ok, being negative all the time is the cowardly path of being a fan, it's easy to dump on any organization you follow, then being hopeful
Because if the team is doing bad or not successful you can act like the smart mark in the room and say i told u so, and when they are winning who cares they winning.
You and MJL give ppl that are hopeful fans and who like to have a positive conversation a hard time. |

Yes, I have temporarily. What I'm doing is challenging you. Bring something to the table. Challenge my opinions. I welcome it. It wasn't sarcasm, it was taking a shot at someone. You can't offer anything. If you could, you would. So step up or no reason for us to converse.

Depends on the contract demands. I do not want the Flyers locking him up for more than 3 years. He is a good bottom six center though. I would prefer to keep him at this point. - mickel25
Too much money, for too many years. It's a virtual lock.
