So what's the conclusion here?
1) Michkov displayed pure magic.
2) He was doing what 99% of players would do in that position and direct the puck into the net or at least into the crease. But Forsling's stick chopped Michkov's stick at the exact moment which caused the puck to die, and was luckily right there for Frost to tap in?
I vote #2. They could try that 100 more times and never re-create that... - HockeyBuzzed
That's why they call it puck luck. That's also why they say go to the net and get the puck to the net and good things can happen. Goals in hockey are low occurring events.

My Flyers Quarter Century team (2000-present) (minimum 300 games played)
Forwards (6)
Giroux - Recchi - Gagne
Carter - Voracek - TK
Defenseman (4)
Provorov - Timonen
Desjardins - Matt Carle
Goalies (2) (minimum 100 games)
Roman Cechmanek - Steve Mason - jd250
I would not put Provorov over Chris Pronger.

True, but he just didn't play enough games as a Flyer for me to include him. - jd250
LOL, you post 100 game minimum and then say Pronger didn't play enough games.

The cautionary tale of tanking, once you start you many never get out of it. Buffalo with how many top picks, great prospect pool, several head coaches, and once again in last place this season. - jd250
Now parroting Briere. Buffalo is not where they are because they tanked. By the way, the Flyers aren't that far ahead of them. Better to be in last place than where the Flyers are. |

Calling it a huge win is hyperbole. Bad for the Flyers and a nothing burger for Florida. - MJL
a team that is battling for a playoff spot beat the cup champs. tell us all why that doesn't qualify as a huge win. |

The pass was from Drysdale and was a super nice play on his part. |

Yup, you keep telling yourself that. 5 years from now, the Flyers will be competing for the cup while the Sabres will be in the exact same place. |

300 game minimum for forwards and defenseman, 100 game min for goalies. Learn how to read. I liked Pronger but he only played 145 games for the Flyers, just not enough. |

There is little chance that the Flyers are a legit cup contender in 5 years. 3 years ago, you said the Flyers were on the very definition of the path to the cup when they made the Atkinson, Ellis and Ristolainen deals. Two years to go.

Sorry, when I read this I fell down, banged my head and knocked myself out. I'm still woozy but awake now. I will savor this post, because they don't come often
Yes, if you want to loosen the games played criteria for defenseman I agree, Pronger is the best defenseman the Flyers have had since Mark Howe I guess. |

My logic was its a quarter century team, so I wanted to award the players that played more games for the Flyers. When I researched this, I was a bit surprised about Kim Johnsson, didn't appreciate how productive he was for the Flyers. I would have picked him but he played less than 300 games for the Flyers so I went with Carle.
I'm surprised no one is beating me up about Ghost, who is close to 200 less games had about the same point total as Provorov, and similar (bad) +/- |

Do you know Ellis has the highest pts/gm of any Flyer defenseman this century? |
