Edstrom is so fast for a giant. Carrick is a beast all of a sudden lol - picklerick
Im kinda curious what Edstrom can do with more minutes. I wonder if he could have an unlikely offensive breakout like Protas has had for the Caps. |

That puck moves so much better without Kreider on the PP. |

Said it a few blogs ago moving him up in the lineup. Not sure he’d exceed just yet, but his future isn’t being a staple on the 4th line. He’ll be a 2nd/3rd line guy. |

I could see him being moved around based on matchup and situations. |

Not gonna leapfrog 6 teams for the final WC spot leaving points on the table like that. Great game until it wasn’t |

Carrick is currently the rangers best center |

I don’t believe the top 6 has a 5v5 goal in their last 3 games
COL- Carrick Edstrom
VGK- Tro (PPG) Edstrom
NJD- Fox (PPG) Panarin (PPG) Carrick
Just checked, they don’t
Before that:
DAL- Laf Tro Laf Tro (PPG)
CHI- Jbrod Chytil Borgen Smith Tro Chytil
WSH- Kreider Carrick Chytil Zib
BOS- Zib Berard
FLA- Chytil Lindgren Kreider (PPG)
TB- Panarin (5v5) Trocheck (SHG)
NJD- Shutout
CAR- Vesey
DAL- Smith (PPG) Trocheck Kreider (EN)
NSH- Shutout |

Really tough loss- they played toe to toe with the Avs. I give the effort for 60 mins another A+. Regardless of the results, when they play like this, they are a fun team to watch. |

KK with a goal tonight - Brukie[/quote
Empty netter

Tough end result last night. They are not going to win every game but that was frustrating bc its a shot at the end of the 3rd that you expect Igor to swallow. But in the big picture its a point and if they play like that against the teams right in front of them they will win plenty of games. What does all this mean for March 7 and the prospects for the season? Who knows? |

I think Drury made it clear when he sent the memo they are moving players when the team was 12-6-1. I don’t think he is going to let a mini point streak change his path |

Empty netter
It counts, ask Ovi who has 61 empty net goals.
A reporter asked Ovi if he thought he was breaking Gretzkys record because he has all of those empty netters, Ovi responded "If you think its that easy, jump on the ice and you try to get one"
Wanna bet the Rangers would have loved an empty netter last night? |

They live and die on the PP. The PP was dormant during the losing streak, once they got the PP going, they started to win.
Been a problem for a few years. |

I think Lindgren and Smith are goners. I doubt they get anything more than 2nd and third rounders. Maybe Miller.
Love to see Mika jettisoned. |

They were a bad 12-6-1 though. What if they win something like 13 of their last 19? Could they somehow hybrid compile assets and throw a hockey trade in there for a player with term? Like the Gaborik trade in '14. I have a hard time believing ownership is going to tolerate punting with a top playoff performing goalie, the potential revenue and their recent playoff history. In the end you are probably right. |

I don't think they are ready to give up on Miller and it wouldn't surprise me if they ink Borgen. Those two were solid again. Lindgren is gone for sure and no point to hanging on to Smith either. |
