He’s making 9.5 million bucks. It’s the same argument you had with Trouba. He makes too much money for what he brings. It as simple as that. I’d expect Makar for that much, which he did for like 2 seasons, but he isnt anymore. - Slimtj100
Trading Fox is not the solution. The amount of minutes hes played and what hes been asked to do to carry that backend over the last 3 years can wear out anyone. Maybe Lindgren was always as bad as he is, but we never noticed it because Fox took care of it. But its taken a toll on him. The answer, first and foremost, is to get him a reliable defensive partner and to decrease his minutes. |

Agree 100%. Any time you trade someone like him teams lose that trade

Would you trade Panarin 50% retained, to NJD for Silayev and a 2026 1st - nyrangers9479
No shot. Cant watch the devils compete for a cup. Trade him next year when he has one year left. He also has to waive |

Any take on here saying fox isn't worth what he is getting paid is nonsense. Makar deserves to be paid way more, but they got to give him a contract before he won the Norris trophy

Equivalent of 2 1st is probably about right. Charge move to the Devils if that’s where he wants to go but I still think you do it. Not sure about another Russian prospect though. |

He’s got one goal with a goalie in the net lol
9.5 for one goal. I’d like more than that please. That’s me tho and I get it, he’s teflon in these parts
Werenski has 15
Makar has 13
Fox is tied with Liam Bichel for goals by a defenseman.
My point is for some reason he gets no heat here compared to the usual suspects when he deserves as much as they do. He’s been here just as long and just as much part of the failures as the others |

Thats not his game. Hes not a point shooter. You can count the amount of slapshots he takes on one hand. He flings shots at net with a load of traffic. |

He has to give us more than one goal for half of a season, or we’re doomed.
He is on pace for 4 goals roughly, after 17 12, and 11 goal seasons. Something is wrong with him, but maybe I’m crazy |

Which top 9 veteran on the Rangers and their Goalie is playing well?
if you are going to trade him he better bring back a Bonafide 1C center (J hughes type) |

Well that’s what I mean lol Fox gets no heat. It’s always someone else
He’s making the most money after Panarin on the entire team (right now). He’s slow. He’s small. But somehow he should be untouchable after the last 3 years of disappointing endings
I think he will age very poorly is ultimately what I’m saying, like Lindgren, and it’s already starting to happen. Exhibit A, his goal scoring. He doesn’t move like he used to |

Right now Fox is not worth his cap hit. I thought he was closer to a PPG pace than he is. If he is a PPG I don't care how many goals he scores because a point indicates a goal was scored. But a 63 point pace like he is on right now is not going to cut it. They need him at 70+ points every season. I think the sputtering PP for a long stretch is to blame for that. |

Yes the PP is definitely not the same. Recent games it looks better at least. But again, we blame everyone but Fox for it sucking lol |

While you're not wrong in some respects you also don't seem to give Fox any credit. Stop comparing him to Makar, he is a generational talent the likes of which we have not seen since Bobby Orr. The contract he is on is an absolute gift to the Avs. I believe Makar might be the 2nd best player in the league, maybe 3rd when MacKinnon is going.
Fox is a damn good hockey player that is having a down year on a team that completely lost its way for 2 months. I'm not happy with his production either (right now) but getting rid of Fox makes this team a hell of a lot worse. |

Not the easiest thing to do with the state of the team and Lindgren playing like a shell of himself most of the year. |

I love Fox. I hope we get more out of him because we can’t win unless we do is about the extent of it
I say trade him only in the event of a retool btw. Not to trade him for no reason. Like i get it we’d suck without him. Because the assets we could get would speed up a retool more then anyone if that’s what they did
The whole team, Fox included, seems to be on the right track now at least. Where to a man they’re all playing better and wins will come. The last 3 games were impressive imo, that was a well deserved and earned 5 pts in the standings |

The thing is he refused to sign with the flames and hurricanes cause he only wanted to play for his favorite team the rangers. There is no way he would agree to be traded anywhere else right now |

That’s the caveat, and why I bring it up, he doesn’t have clauses right now. I think he does eventually, but I’m pretty sure this year he still doesn’t. |

Fox has gotten a ton of heat this year on twitter and by Brooks too and rightfully so. But a 63 point pace on his worst year when the team has been awful I will take it. Everyone has been bad this year. Just not sure trading fox bc of one off year at 26 is the move. If he was 30, sure sell now before its too late.
Fox still probably ends with 10 goals this year. I expect a bounce back next season. If not then I would be concerned. |

This what people have to realize. Fox is not terrible all of a sudden at 26. Its a bad season where everyone is having a down year except Cuylle maybe. Overreaction to trade him. Not sure the return would ever equal what he does.

Come on, TJ. You're not this nuts. Yes, Fox has two goals. He is also still on pace for 65 points and even in the worst season of his career is 8th in Dman scoring. Talk about cherry picking stats.
Do we want more from him? Of course. Is he overpaid or washed up? Not by a long shot. Or, more to the point, we certainly don't have enough info to say.
Come on, Mr. Positive. Let's keep perspective here. |
