Holy fu ck lol. I'm going to the Eisbären game here in a couple weeks with a group (the highest league in Germany... so not the best hockey), but lower bowl tickets were 30 and beer is like 5 or 6 euro. Great atmosphere. I couldn't spend 450 if I tried |

Dude...you were the engineering genius lol that claimed scoring and skill were up based on what Debrusk and Sherwood were bringing alone this year. Then you somehow tried to massage your point by tossing Heinan's 5 goals in there as well lol. Clearly This stuff isn't your strong suit. We scored 279 goals last season and now we are on pace for under 230-240. I told you last week scoring was way down and you tried to spin it...well done I guess...
- LordHumungous
No, that's completely false, not once did I ever say "skill is up". I simply disputed your claim that they haven't replaced the scoring skill they lost in Mikheyev, Lafferty, Lindholm and Kuzy.
I said overall scoring is down for a wide variety of reasons, injuries, cancer, personal issues, etc.
That has nothing to do with what you said, you said "Canucks lost major skill from last years roster which technically wasn't all replaced", which is obviously untrue.
The production from the guys they added, DeBrusk, Sherwod & Heinen is far greater than the guys they let go, Mikheyev, Lafferty & Kuzmenko. So I don't know what you're talking about.
The fact the teams production is down from last year has nothing to do with the guys they let go, it's because scoring from their key guys is down, for various reasons. Miller, Pettersson, Hoglander and Boeser all haven't scored as much as they did last year.
DeBrusk 17 goals in 40 games.
Sherwood 12 goals in 40 games.
Heinen 5 goals in 40 games.
34 goals in HALF a year.
Mikheyev 11 goals in 78 games.
Lafferty 13 goals in 79 games.
Kuzmenko 8 goals in 43 games.
32 goals in a full year (almost)

Fair point.
I actually don’t disagree that they might be missing Mikhayev & Lafferty’s speed, they’d force teams to back out of the neutral zone quicker to defend their speed. And Lindholm’s defensive abilities, he didn’t provide much offence but defensively he was good.
My whole counter-point with him was they aren’t missing their scoring, which he suggests they are, but they may be missing other facets of their game.
Scoring is down because Miller, Petey, Boeser & Hoglander aren’t scoring at last years pace. |

It's always compounded by the fact that we're paying for flights and a hotel as well, there's a reason we only go to 1 or 2 games a year |

On January 17, 1973, the Flyers named Clarke the team’s new captain.

“The Montreal Canadiens have nine picks in the first four rounds of the 2025 #NHLDraft, and they sit one point behind Boston for the second wild-card spot (with two games in hand).
What an interesting position to be headed to as the NHL Trade Deadline nears.”

I was in the same boat a couple of years ago. My buddy that I grew up with offered to take me to the game with him and his brother who are die hard Leafs fans. I reluctantly said yes knowing full well I was gonna take it on the chin, especially the way the Canucks were playing at the time. Buddy paid for the tickets. Lower bowl corner. Didn't ask what he paid because it turned out to be a really nice gift when the Canucks wound up winning 4-1.
We missed the playoffs that year but I got a free pass from the ribbing because of that game. Best of luck Northy. I know you'll have fun regardless. Probably the most fun I had was chanting "Leafs suck!", at the top of my lungs with all the Canucks fans, when the organist played "If Your Happy And You Know It". Not sure why every rink doesn't do that. |

He's not getting traded most likely. Value is way down and looks like Miller and Tocchet were into it on the bench last night? |

See there has been no shortage of Canucks drama still. Get rid of Miller or just bench him. |

If Schneider isn't part of the mix then don't waste our fucking time dude. - LordHumungous
I know we all have rose coloured glasses when it comes to canucks assets here, but you've got to be a little realistic. Other GMs hear about this media coverage and then also probably know a little more about his leave, etc. For all the Miller apologists saying 100 points this, intangibles that ... none of that matters when one of your 'leaders' mentally and physically checks out on their team in plain sight. Sure someone might step up and take a flyer, but not for anything canucks (team or fans) covet.
Keep in mind as good as the contract looked last year, now a team needs to consider if this goes sour on the new team, they've got several years to deal with or buyout. Best case now is there is a massive Miller attitude adjustment coupled with a medium team turnaround (not big enough to save season aspirations) in time for trade deadline and a team maybe tosses us a mid-level prospect or pick. |

Or getting a fresh start revitalizes him. Right now he's detrimental to the team. At some point a decision will have to be made on Miller. If they end up with Schneider great, if he's cut loose for nothing you're stopped the bleeding.

The pic I saw last night was pretty telling. Miller at the end of the bench... big gap between him and the rest of the team. That sure screams leadership... sitting down there pouting.
Even Phil Di Giuseppe had more 5v5 ice time than Miller last night who was dead last for it(9:25).

If you were smart you’d have waited until game day. Same level of seats at 6 pm on game day would cost you less than $100 |

With a massive grain of salt, new Miller chatter. No idea how reliable the info is from these guys, but something else to chew over for trade proposals
Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos reported Thursday that if Miller or Elias Pettersson get traded before the March 7 trade deadline, to “keep an eye” on New Jersey. Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects added fuel to that fire today, at least when it comes to Miller specifically.
“There’s some smoke out there that the Devils are really kicking the tires on J.T. Miller,” Robinson said Friday morning.
If there is a rift Miller is creating in the room with Petey and Hughes, maybe this is 5D chess to get Hughes to not jump ship to play with his brothers in the future |
