Hockey day in Canada. Have some respect you dumb yank.

Is it?

I’m sorry, I didn’t know. I’m finding I’m much more interested in football than hockey these days, it must be cultural appropriation. It’s the playoffs too, so there is that.

Absolutely! Growing up in Victoria BC we always had King5 and the American stations so I’ve always watched American football. But back in the day we also watched the BC Lions too, the Joe Paopao and Roy Dewalt days.

There’s reports that the #Canucks might be seeking a 3rd party to help broker the deal. Complicated trade to make with the salary and term, Miller’s NMC and money coming back with possible retention.

Rick Dhaliwal
@DhaliwalSports
JT Miller has not been asked to waive his no trade clause yet but there seems to be a lot activity around Miller today.

Some think the Canucks are working hard on this.

I get it. I was just joking anyway. But this TO Montreal game is pretty good.

The whole situation pisses me off so much. I blame the Canuck organization more than anybody. With all the experience on coaching staff and management, surely they have encountered situations like this before. For the life of me I can’t understand why they couldn’t resolve it. It’s simple conflict resolution. Every business has to go though it at some point. I’m assuming pro sports franchises deal with it much more due to the inflated egos.

What a joke of a call to give Washington a TD.

Bad call, Lions are a second half team, they’re gonna win this thing.

As it should be.

Reports there was a deal almost in place with the Rangers and he might not play tonight, but then they said it’s cooled off so he’ll play. Then Dhaliwal chimes in and says Dallas is in the mix.

Exactly what the Canucks need, a bidding war. Drive that price up, get maximum return

That's based on the assumption is a simple or straightforward conflict to resolve. I think there's something more at play here, multiple things happening at once. I'm sure we'll never know exactly, but they manage things well enough the past few years and this year something extra happened

Except Dhaliwal is saying the return might not be that great as they’re looking for a third team to retain on Miller for 5 years.

All I’ve heard/read it’s a personality clash between two players and everyone’s camped behind one player or the other. I’ve heard of that happening before but not as bad that this has become.

Is the extra you mentioned injuries exasperating the situation? If not, what is the extra?

Oh man, I don’t agree with that. His career numbers are absolutely crazy. This year is an anomaly.

I hope.

Been saying this for a while. The mismanagement of everything getting out means that every team they’re dealing with knows the pressure is on canucks, not them. Plus they know he has NTC, so leverage of competing offers is limited.

The only thing more canuck is if Jay Tee plays tonight and ends up getting injured.

This is complete nonsense!! It's purely derived from a stretch last year where he didn't score an even strength goal, final 13 regular season games and 13 playoff games. He wasn't good during that 26 games stretch, no question.

But...during his last 100 regular season games Pettersson has 36 goals 54 assists 90 points +14 while averaging 19:21 in icetime. That's a 0.90 point per game average. which is a norm for him for four of his six seasons in the league.

If you go back 82 regular season games he has 75 points, which is 0.93 points per game.

This completely absurd narrative that he's sucked for a year needs to stop. Yes he didn't finish the year off good and he struggled for the 13 playoff games (knee & wrist) but that's not a 100 game stretch or an 82 game stretch.

He has sucked for 12 months now. It’s an awful contract. Time to relax and ask pouty to take his nuts off your chin
