Monty to start against the Wings tomorrow night. - Snots33_77
yeah I just heard that, very interesting. I wonder if this was already the plan, or they gave him the start because he was crazy good last night and basically won the game by himself

Who knows what the plan is?? Maybe it's for Monty's confidence since there was a lot of Dobes talk lately??

bah, I get what you're saying but they're professionals, I doubt the coaching staff is considering what fans or the media are saying to make such decisions.
anyway I'm totally fine with it, and who knows, maybe they'll give Dobes the start on Saturday at the Bell, as a semi-redemption kind of thing since he didn't have a great game last time (although he was insane in OT lol).

Or they could just be adhering to the split of games like a 65%-35% kind of thing?? I could care less as long as both are playing well and we're in the games and not getting blown up!
I haven't had this much fun watching the Habs since the 2021 playoff run

Pete'in ain't easy!!

my only worry about that kind of ratio is that Dobes is still young and is used to playing regularly, it isn't always easy for younger goalies to fill in the backup position. take Primeau for example, he was kind of stuck in this catch 22 situation before being sent down... - Pat1993
I get what you're saying. But I think Dobes is a lot stronger between the ears and has a higher compete and focus level than Primeau.
Will be interesting to see what happens IF Dobes can keep winning. That might change the playing % for the duo....

yeah well he's won 5 in a row, he might continue the streak but he's bound to lose at some point, unless he becomes the 1st NHL goalie to have never lost a game throughout his career...
but seriously though you may be right about Dobes being more confident, it's a must if you want to be a goalie in MTL.

Monty deserves the start against the Wings, based on his win last night.
But I do expect Dobes to get 1 out of every 3, if not more, 'til he end of the season (or if/when he starts sucking). |

the team owes him one for sure, let's hope they come out strong against DET and make life a bit easier for him. |

So in short Matthias think Demidov will be a top 10 scorer in the NHL
Thinks hutson is already the habs best player
Thinks Mailloux will never make the NHL
interesting - Xizord
where does it mention this? I don't see his name anywhere in the article, but I know the Snake saw him more of a bottom pairing guy, at best.

I think he's going to be a Souray type, brings offense can work on the PP but if he's on your top pairing, you're in trouble |
