I see you keep saying the Flyers play the right way. How so? Do other teams have the wrong blue print? There is no such thing as playing the right way as there are many definitions.
- furio16

Yes, other teams do not play the same structure and do not have the willingness to block shots and do what it takes to win games. This is the only way this flyers team can play. They don’t have elite talent, other than Michkov. With decent goaltending the flyers have enough to be a playoff team and be a tough out.

Risto, the Flyers best defenseman lead all defenseman in ice time, playing almost 24 minutes, had five block shots and led the second power play unit that scored the game winning goal. Noah Cates with another fantastic game clearly the Flyers best center and what can you say about TK top 10 in the league and scoring clearly the face of the franchise.

Now may be the best time to move on from rr. He’s not part of the solution long term. I will say, he’s improved a lot since coming here and now is a serviceable top 6 d. Just overpaid

I added to my previous post. I think there’s a good amount of youth on the team but I agree I would like more. If Luchanko is ready next year, I’d be all for having him in the lineup. He needs minutes though. Can’t be 4th line 10 mins a night. My sense is that he needs more seasoning maybe in the a which is also fine. Wrt rr, I want them to move on from the bad overpays like his so the sooner the better. But if that’s next year and no retained, so be it.
- Hextall271

Jett will not be ready to contribute in any meaningful way. Flyers will likely mess his development. Hasn't shown enough. Don't think can play in the AHL though not sure.

Cates made a big play on the PP winning goal but overall, in yesterday's game, Sean Couturier was their best center

They should look to keep and then extend Risto. Players like him do not come around all that often. How do you replace him?

being the face of a losing team is wonderful.

Just checked his age. He’ll be 19 this August. So I think you’re correct. They need to be 20 to play on the a. Looks like another year of junior which is certainly fine.

Ristolainen has gone from being awful to now being serviceable. Able to make the routine play now and best suited for a 3rd pair role. They have to get out of that contract if they can. Try to avoid taking it on the chin as best as they can. The Flyers mix is an issue but there is a defenseman down in the minors that is better than Ristolainen that needs to play.

Agreed. posted something from hockey news a while back that showed that Andrae was contributing well when he was sent down. My personal preference would be to have both he and z play and let the chips fall where they may.

My guess is that Luchanko will be a Flyer next year. I don't think that they'll be afraid to burn a year of his ELC and if he falters during the season. Can always send him back to juniors mid season

of course he isn't. Though the flyers may see it differently. thankfully they cant extend him until a summer 2026.

Who is that dman? Andrae plays the left side, so Risto is not blocking him at all.

Andrae was up and down .Inconsistent. Which is fine. He should have stayed and let it play out.

Just another example of the CO-GM being weak and letting the other Co-GM run over him.

But he’s small and moves the puck well and they already have a few guys like that.

My sense with him is that he’s a ways a way. Pretty good defensively but a lot to develop on o. He was just made the captain of Guelph so give him a year in that role and then see where he stands. I think the a would help him as I see his path.

Andrae was legitimately a difference maker when he was up. He was their 3rd best defenseman in my opinion. Find the right mix and don't keep a better player down because you don't know how to put a team together

Nobody knows better than Briere that the NHL is no place for small skilled players.

I agree but I just think the Flyers are going to feel that they can develop him better than another year in juniors. Of course how he plays is going to be the biggest factor. Just a guess at this point.

I found it weird they didn’t use Coots late for draws. I thought he was really good yesterday as well.
