LOL. Very very low bar, but that actually is the most creative contribution you've ever made to this place. |

I got worried when his mask was knocked off.
But he was fine.
He may just survived the season.
Great to see. |

If you watch the goal, there is one thing that was never mentioned:
The Tampa player kicked the stick out of Woll's hand, and Marner did yell at the ref - so he was a beat late to the point, but it didn't affect this goal.
https://x.com/i/status/1881537894277619880
Marner is playing high slot. They will let the umbrella player have the puck all day long, so Marner puts pressure on him - it goes off to the right, and if you want to blame him (and you shouldn't) he was late getting to that player. He stays with this man and doesn't return back to the umbrella man because he's protecting the danger area - but it doesn't matter as Paul tips in the shot.
I don't see Marner at fault there.
You do have to wonder how legal it is to kick the goalie's stick out of his hands . . . because that is what allowed Paul to stand right there and tip that in. - Monkeypunk
You just posted a link showing Marner floating around for a good 4-5 seconds before the stick part even happened.
It's all good, he played a good game for the most part. I've already admitted some absolute morons here make you drag a player more than you should.
I didn’t request justification as to whether I was right on that one specific play or not. Thanks anyways. 👍 |

As you know you can’t kick anyone’s stick, the refs probably missed it or wrote it odd because Woll loses his stick way too much. I don’t understand why he loses it so
Much but both he and Stollie to some degree seem to lose their twig a lot.
As a goalie I hate to have to try to play without a stick and do everything to try and avoid it but these guys are just like “m’eh whatever no stick”. It sure doesn’t make me feel good watching! 😳😳😳 |

Ok agree if it’s to pick up the puck but having a stick in your hand doesn’t slow you down going post to post if you’re doing it right. In fact it helps but the Leafs won and Will was solid and that’s all that really matters. 😁👍 |

What do you think Marner is doing there - because he's not "floating around". He's covering a lane and driving the puck to a different area. Here . . .let's look at this: At the 0:01 mark, you find Marner in the high slot with Cirelli because Hagel as the puck on the side wall and if Marner isn't there, Cirelli can back off McCabe for the one-timer. Hagel gets pressure from Matthews, so he moves it back to Kucherov at the left point; here Marner peels off of Cirelli because he's no longer a threat and he moves out to contain Kucherov. McCabe has Paul in front and Matthews closes on Cirelli to take that opportunity away - now what should probably have happened here is actually that Benoit - who is not doing anything - should have collapsed on Paul at the net and let McCabe advance on Cirelli, so Matthews could take Hagel on the left side - because, as I said earlier, the umbrella man (Hedman) here should not be a threat.
Instead Hagel is left uncovered, letting Kucherov bounce the puck to Hedman, to Hagel - for the one-touch slapper that Paul tips. Since the goalie doesn't have a stick and the play has cycled around, it is once again Benoit who doesn't have his man and he lets Paul tip the puck freely.
I am going to this difficulty because I'm shocked at what you think you see.
