But yes the level of whining from Edmonton fans and media is ridiculous. McDavid is the best player in the world, by far. But he’s not a saint.

- TurdFergeson

Blah blah blah,
Any passionate fan base in the world sticks up for their team and players.
If there is no whining and complaining, they are not a passionate fan base.
If every NHL team had a fan base like Edm, Montreal and Toronto, the league would be billions richer.
Canuks fans have mostly been fair weather fans.

IMO, the NHL is losing millions by not letting the stars be stars.
Imagine in Matthews could play to to his full skill, without the interference and dirty plays against him.
Matthews would probably score 80 goals. How many millions would the NHL make if a USA born player scored 80 goals?
How much more entertaining would the game be if the McDavids, MacKinnons got to play to their full skills?

Checking, toughness, blocking etc. are all valid skills also. You’re just another whiny fan. It’s clear you prefer watching them play shinny.

What Garland did to McDavid was negate skill by interference, and was against NHL rules.
Clutching/grabbing, interfering is just removing entertainment.
Not many players have top skills. Let the top skilled players display that skill more.
The stuff done to players like McDavid, MacKinnon, Matthews every game is against the NHL written rules. Just call the rules consistently. Players will adjust to how the game is called.

I completely disagree with this "Mahomes" B.S. They are all on the same sheet of ice and they all play by the same rules. McDavid gets more than his fair share of hooks and slashes that go uncalled (It's the only way to slow him down! lol), but he definitely has stuck up for himself more lately, which I really commend him for. But he 100% has to be accountable for his actions. I'd rather see him push back and draw the odd penalty than whine to the refs. I don't see him whining a lot actually. I absolutely love Crosby, probably the best all around player ever, but I can picture him complaining over the years much more than McDavid does.

Did he do the right thing smashing smurfy smurf Garland's big head? yup 100%
Did he deserve a suspension? yup 100%

Gretzky was protected more than Lemieux, probably because Lemieux was bigger and it wasn't as obvious, I say call the rules consistent.
Penalize McDavid the same as Garland.
I have no issue with McDavid getting suspended because he deserved it.
But Garland had the answer as to why McDavid did what he did.
I was really impressed with Garland's comments after

Garland has one of the most punchable faces in the league, he's 5'6", and he wears a turtleneck and a goatee...and yet, he is still in the league. So, Kudos to him for still making a career out of his very limited tools. He deserved a penalty on McDavid, probably 3 separate penalties, but he got away with it...and in turn slowed down the best player in the NHL...who in turn lost his cool and got suspended.

Garland is top 5 disliked players for me ever, but he gets an A+ for doing his job. I love that McDavid tried to close his face, but McDavid deserved AT LEAST 3 games for that! I mean, crosscheck to the face...it's vicious actually.

So good for Garland, good for McDavid, and great for hockey. LFG!

It looks to me like McDavid has been paying very close attention during his video Coaching sessions. So there's that.

And what McDavid did to Garland before that was against the rules. He pushed him down, fell on him, rolled over and laid on him, then punched him in the back of the head.

Keep whining!

1 game would have been fine for McD. 3 for Myers was appropriate. But the league needed to save face. Even Tocchet said McD did not deserve three games and having the best player in the league out sucks for the fans.

Either way 3 games was too much for McD but since Myers was getting 3 games the league needed to follow suit. I'd explain it to you but you are to obsessed different aspects it appears. Get over it champ.

I've never known Myers to be a dirty player but I agree, the Canucks are a disgusting franchise who condone assault. Can you believe they used to have Todd Bertuzzi?

Canuck fans have been the fickle bunch for more years than worth counting. Impatient at times whiney a lot of the time. We don’t whine & cry when served a deserving suspension. We don’t put on homer blinders & use excuses for suspensions. We generally agree if not that DOP is weak & too lenient.

We like most fans are media sheeple more than being objective thinking fans. I’m much older & say this with all honesty. I make my own opinions right or wrong. Newer gens simply are gullible.

Cherry picking…

What about the earlier hold by your D behind the play in the D zone before it all happened?

It's time. Years of trying to maximize the old core, poor drafting, and poor asset management...the bill is due. They're washed

Unlike the Bruins you have talent and coaching. Quinn alone is better than Boston's whole roster. I think you guys will right the ship. Boston cruised straight into a very visible and avoidable iceberg. There is no future.
