What would it take to pry Schenn and O'Reilly out of Nashville? - fifty__missions
I liked them when we brought them in mid season but that ship sailed for me. I don't want them on the books next year and both have term left and IMO are overpaid for what they are. ROR perhaps not greatly overpaid as I didn't account for his age as I thought he was older but still he had a chance to re-up here and went elsewhere and that still leaves me not wanting him back. Call it petty if you will but who wants to be 2nd choice?
The more I hear it talked about though the more I would love to see Naz come home but that deal has to be the Leafs dumping a bad contract and retention happening by Calgary. Pretty slim chance we see Kadri back as a Leaf but it would be pretty cool.
I'm not sure TRE isn't looking at HAK as the Defensive add and maybe more focused on a 3C.
Time will tell. |

Just my thoughts but I don't see why RoR would agree to a move at all. He made a family based decision to go to Nashville then pumped the team to get Stammer to go there. I can't see him wanting or agreeing to go ...not with 2.5 yrs left. I guess all of that would be subject to some major family dynamic where they want to move back to Ontario.
Schenn sucks other than this admittedly magically impact he had on Rielly a couple of years ago. Can he do it again?

Not sure that had alot to do with schenn and more so vasi just not being vasi. Cause in the 2nd round, they got caved in.
With mccabe, tanev and unbelievably oel in the fold, not sure there's a need for schenn. Also not sure he will still be able to provide what he did 2 years ago.
We'll see |

Yeah I hear you. ROR's footspeed is a concern too. Brock Nelson is a better skater than ROR. He's more of a shooter than a setup guy. I think he'd work well on a line with Domi on the wing as a setup guy. Prying anything from Lou's cold hands would be difficult though. |

Too much and not sure it would be worth it.
I think there are better options.
Laughton comes to mind.
Nelson maybe? But he will be costly and i doubt lou moves him to the leafs |

Brock Nelson would be interesting.
I hope Tre doesn't give up a 1st rnd pck for him unless it's conditional on if they don't re-sign then it's a 2nd rnd pck. |

And then were promptly dispatched in 5 games in Rd 2?
I like ROR but I'm not convinced that he's an answer at this point. I think we can also do better than Schenn.
Agreed on Tanev and OEL - they've been fantastic. |

Can we all agree that this Hildebeast experiment should be over?!? Kid just isn't ready, no need to ruin his confidence any more.
Is there any reason they haven't run it back with Murray? Roster management, maybe? |

It's probably too early to tell. Too many teams in the mix for now, things will get clearer closer to the TDL. |

I'm on board with this. I think it's tough for a kid to play once then have this huge gap in playing time and come back - he's for sure nervous as anything and the pressure of playing in Toronto etc.
It's different if your the full time back up and get to practice and be with the team for long stretches, the whole emergency call up etc. has to be just insanely nerve racking for a young goalie.
I'd rather roll with Murray at this point and let Hildabeast go back to the AHL.

I'm embarrassed for the sport of hockey.
A minute and a half into the game - what the frank was the point of that, other than to have him be able to say he's had a fight this year?
What a waste of time, money and a roster spot.

Roll with Murray, and when Stolarz is healthy again, Murray can go down with mysterious back issues. |

Yeah, Murray should be up. At least when he gets destroyed, he's used to it. Another day in the office for him, not screwing with a kids confidence. |
