But none of that was the argument. The argument was that the leafs are only on top of the Atlantic because no one else in the Atlantic has shown up.

It's ridiculous to presume other teams have put the leafs where they are. Eeyore rain on anything the leafs do type stuff, which is what the original commentator has been barfing all over this place for almost 20 years.

You've gotten real comfy being the leaf forum fact checker and I generally espect your knowledge, but this is opinion based stuff and does not require your justifications or breakdowns. Your ultimate determination of whether someone is right or wrong is not asked for or needed.

I don't know exactly how to tell you that I showed you by points percentage that them being in first, despite having a lower points percentage than they have previously held (and not been in first) is not really an opinion. It's . . . you know . . math.

My opinion part was that despite that, there are a lot of things to like about this team.

I'm not sure I'm "real comfy being the leaf forum fact checker." Everyone in here, from time to time, provides facts and checks each other. Just because I happened to note that a poster you dislike does make a fair point doesn't mean I'm picking a fight.

And here is another personal opinion: I know there are posters that annoy people, but that's going to happen in a small microcosm like this site really is. I strongly urge anyone to please make their point and feel good about it and then not dwell. You're not changing anyone's mind on a hockey site - just like none of us are changing anyone's political opinion, religious affiliation or - in the case of Zezel - Nylander hair obsession - over the internet. And so you don't think I'm being holier than thou, I am guilty of it, too - I'm just trying not to be. As a dork I like looking up nerd stats and looking at numbers so a lot of the "Fact checking" is really just sharing what I found because someone else's comment raised some curiosity.

And I say all of this by way of trying to say that I'm not intending to pick a side or pick or a fight. I mean it when I say that I do get why people get upset with certain posters from time-to-time, and aside from Strider just about every single person here posts something interesting that's worth discussion.

This site would be so much more enjoyable if they added an "ignore user" button, and also allowed you to upvote and downvote posts.

But that's technology that's only been around for 25 years, so I can't see it being implemented here soon.

It IS new and improved and better than ever.

It just went from 2005 technology to 2007 technology.

It is such an old forum format.

Before the dot com boom in 1994/95 many nerds were using dial-up sites - with different forum boards. There was, in the GTA, two multi-line chat boards Metronet and Opticomm which featured chat rooms, private chat, online ASCII games (I recall a few ANSI ones, but they were less common). But the forums from that time, these were typically single line sites. You know . . . you'd call up and if it wasn't busy, log in, read other poster's comments, leave your messages, and then log off and so on . . . many of those commands are used in the BBCode model used by this site.

So this structure predates the dot com boom.

Go to "chez victor" for very good burger place. One of my favorite burger spots ever.

For hotels, depends on your budget really. I'm not a big fan of spending much on hotels as I only sleep there.

As for things to do, walking around old Quebec at night as they light up the place is always great. There's the ice hotel you can visit or sleep in.

You can go to Ophelia and eat inside a heated "dome" outside, which is pretty cool.

Go for some pretty good micro-breweries there too, "Sacrilège" has some pretty good crafts beers.

Cheers friend!

- Scabeh

Thanks Scabs, I'll will check those out. I'm going in late May so no ice hotel, but I've been told the city is lovely in spring too.

For sites like Reddit, if a post gets too many downvotes, it disappears so you have to click on it to view it.

It also lets douchebags know when they are being douchebags - although I concede that there are a few here who know that they are being douchebags - that's the sole reason they are here.

My friend from Nova Scotia says Quillan is his buddy, played hockey with him growing up.

So I said, alright call him up if he’s your friend.

He didn’t call him.

Not Marner hate allowed in here today.

Or Marner ball gurgling. That's not allowed either.

Both will occur, one far more frequent and annoying than the other.

You can take that prediction to the bank!
