he is the best english speaking player we have - i thought you were going to say because he would then get traded.

That's not saying much.

Lafreniere should be it. He is the right type of player. Just hope he continues to grow.

Laf should just focus on playing good hockey. He doesn’t need the extra stress and responsibility of being the captain on top of it

You could be right. I agree on Fox, he is basically Leetch who was not Captain material.

Borgen and Vankannien just being steady boring defensively reliable players has really made a huge difference for the defense

Borgen is going to get paid nicely on his next deal. Not insane money but a healthy spike

I wasnt a fan of trading KK- but the more I see Borgan play, the more I like the trade.

he was going toe to toe with Tkachuk all night basically shadowing him every shift. We’re simply a better team now. And now Kaliyev is starting to show what he can do when he has the puck on his stick which should offset what Kakko did to a certain degree. Different skill sets but we didn’t lose much in the lineup where people can get over it eventually 🙄

Idk if Vancouver needs a goalie prospect, but suppose he was the main prospect in a deal for Miller, you’re opposed to that? We can’t get him for nothing. We can find backups, I don’t think that’s a priority to on hold to if a deal comes along

I agree with this. Quick may play another year, and there’s plenty of opportunity to pickup a backup.

I just gandered over on their blog and they don’t need a goalie prospect, so that probably won’t work

I’d bet that Mancini being among the pieces going to Vancouver would be attractive. Not as attractive as Schneider, but I find it hard to believe the rangers trade him at this stage.

This feels like a lot like PLD in LA where he will 100% be traded, but the team getting the player won’t have to give up much of anything. So maybe we get him for pistachios instead of peanuts. Especially because we can take the whole salary without blinking. Im pretty sure Washington did that with PLD

Not sure to what to make of this team, some passion has returned but Mika is still here and I dont think the Rangers can win in the playoffs with him.

Ya none of this really matters as long as we have Mika and Panarin leading the way in the playoffs. At least if the goal is winning a Stanley Cup. If you just want entertaining hockey games that are meaningful with something on the line to watch every other night, then this is fine for that.

From what? Claiming a guy for free bc we were one of the bottom teams in the league? Borgen has played well, but Borgen wasn’t worth Kakko. I fail to see ur point

Ask yourself do we finally have a shut down pair to go against the big boys in the NHL? Ask yourself has Miller ever looked better? Definitely this season. And then ask yourself why that is? It certainly wasn’t magic that made this happen

It’s ok to hate the trade, I get it. But it has worked wonders for this team. How can you honestly deny that? Haven’t given up a goal at home in like 165 something minutes

And let’s face it, the only reason you don’t like the trade is because you never heard of Will Borgen before Drury traded for him lol none of us did really. But he is just what the doctor ordered and it was at the perfect time (before the season completely spiraled into the abyss)

Sign Cuylle to an extension and make him captain.
In all likelihood they go without a captain next year also. What'd we go 4 years without a captain prior to Trouba?
Let Cuylle get 2 -50+pt seasons under his belt between this year and next year. Kid has all the intangibles you want in a leader and captain, give him the C heading into the 26'-27' season.
I see Shane Doan as a solid comp.
