Ian Cole is a bigger loss than a lot of people are willing to admit.

Oiler media and fans are downright funny 😆 they want games where everything is called well if that’s the case McMuffin would be in the box the whole game 🤣

I agree and mentioned it early season. He's a great example. He has a big reputation as a leader and glue guy. Team mates, coaches and GM's praise him for it.
- boonerbuck

Fans wanted him gone because he scored 50% of the oilers goals in the playoffs 😆

I miss fighting. I loved a good bench clearing brawl back when hockey was violent.

Adding more grit!

Vancouver Canucks
@Canucks
General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that D Noah Juulsen has been placed on retroactive IR (retroactive to Jan. 14) and D Elias Pettersson and F Linus Karlsson have been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL).

It's happening! DPetey & EPetey ... I was worried the drama and potential trade fallout would wreck it. Finally something to look forward to

He can only try when a meanie is away from the team? You want to commit 8 years to this brittle pos? Your stupidity actually outweighs your obesity. Truly shocking
- CanuckDon

Umm, they're already committed. Contract is signed. I don't see Petey doing anything that deserves him to be totally berated and hated on. He's not playing as well as I'm sure he and everyone else would like. He's kind of at a crossroads, 200 foot player or 100 point man. He's probably not matured enough to be both yet. Maybe in a couple years.

I mean I dislike how Myers plays, and I've been hot & cold with Miller over the last few years, but I don't think I hate them as humans and for how much $ they make like you seem to with Petey. Perhaps take a try at cheering/following another team where you don't distain the very existence of one of their players.

Hey! Great advice, I’ll consider switching teams. He is playing to a $5MM contact and is paid $11.6MM. He also ruined our chances at making the cup final last year. Perform to the level you are paid or expect criticism. If you don’t like it, sports aren’t for you. Go protest some injustice at city hall instead of wasting our time here

Well I'm just saying, you seem to hate every fibre of his being. Like how he looks, what he says, what he wears, how he takes his coffee. As mentioned, the contract is signed so you might have to live with it a little bit. You talk as if they're debating on extending him or something. Not many double digit million AAV contracts have been dealt, Huberdeau is the only one that comes to mind. So odds are he is going to be here for the next many number of years. That's a long time to get your blood pressure up and defend how bad you think he is and always will be. And hey, look on the bright side ... at least he's not Loui Eriksson

Like last time they tried, no one is willing to part with a young quality center I suspect.

Canucks have changed their ask a bit..

One thing that’s important to note: When these Miller trade talks with teams started several weeks ago, the Canucks were telling teams they needed apples to apples in a trade. They didn’t want to do a futures deal because they were intent on staying in playoff contention. But now the Canucks have relented on that to some degree, knowing that Cup-contending teams don’t want to disrupt their core and Vancouver would do a futures deal if it made sense.

Is Hughes a good leader? It is under his captain that this shmozzle has gone on.

What’s he supposed to do about a guy that had been benched, argued with a coach and then asked for time off?!
When is the last time anyone heard of a player taking a leave of absence because of a dispute with a coach?!

Not that it exactly relates to this, but leadership takes different forms. Read this yesterday about the Sedins and AV

In the 2007-08 season, the bench boss saw another side of the Sedins. They had shown the physical and mental resolve to help stake their place in the game. But they wanted more.

“I was tougher on the twins than any other players,” stressed Vigneault. “They came to see me in my office. I do a lot of teaching through video and they were growing in their leadership, responsibility and accountability.

“They said to me: ‘You know AV, if you’ve got something that might be more on the negative side — and if you could find us doing it — it might be better for the team.'”

What the Sedins meant was if Vigneault really wanted to get his message across, and especially those who needed a wake-up call, why not target the twins?

“It was just their way of saying if you need to be tougher on the group, be tougher on us. We’ll be able to handle it and it will send the right message. They were an extension of me and were able to take the message to the room.

“What an impact that had and it’s such a strong memory.”

Rutherford said we need to respect JTM's needs and wants to take leave.

I find it funny how a few weeks ago people were saying how media was blowing it out of proportion when it was alleged to be a rift in the room between Miller and Pouty, now that media is reporting that Miller is being traded and he gets benched etc, those same people side with it just being a Miller issue.

Pouty can do no wrong

Thanks for pointing that out.

I have zero idea how he is playing as I watch very little Canucks hockey and have watched more CBJ hockey than any other team, this season.
My boy Fantilli is looking excellent out there in Columbus.

They were good last night, CBJ, Fantilli and Belluz had good games and Elvis Merzlikins was excellent.
