Where did I defend the Seller signing. I flat out said I didnt like it. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
By trying to justify it by saying maybe he would waive to go to a contender, and he only has 1 more year of trade protection o not all bad. |

Since the beginning of the cap era, almost every Cup winning team except maybe the '19 Blues built their team through the draft. They built their elite cores through the draft and when it came time to make the final step they added the support pieces they needed.
Ive said it once and I say it again, the Flyers plans seems to be the opposite. Draft the support pieces and sign the elite talent.
We will be lucky if 2 players end up being significant NHL contributors from this upcoming draft. The rest will be fringe players or AHLers. All 6 picks in the first 2 rounds means is more chances to get lucky. This team is rarely lucky. - MBFlyerfan
And when did those teams build through the draft? When they wer rebuilding. They didnt build their team while contending for the cup. No one is denying the Flyers are making things harder on themselves by not tanking but they are rebuilding. They are acquiring draft capital and prospects to become a contender. That is the essence of a rebuild.
A retool would be going out and swapping pieces for existing pieces, like upgrading a PC. You are replacing parts that dont fit with parts you believe do fit.

Much of what you post here makes zero sense. Your first two sentences are completely illogical. They didn't build through the draft because they didn't do it when they were contending?
What you describe is not the essence of a rebuild. It's just a small part of it. A rebuilding team doesn't refuse to bottom out. Doesn't sign an older player to an 8 year deal nor does a rebuilding team refuse to trade aging players that shouldn't be a part of the future. One small aspect in a fleeting period of time does not make up the essence of a rebuild |

Says everything.
It's your opinion, not most of the people's opinons who post on here. It is definitly in the minority.
But it's only an opinion...it doesn't mean it is more true because it is yours. You are arguing with everyone on here about Risto, his placement on the team, his value, etc, and actually have the nerve to tell people, like the post quoted in this response, that they are wrong in their opinion.
Kinda ignorant...feels like you are almost verbally attacking some on here. - TheFreak
Most opinions on this site, probably true. But in the opinions of those that actually know what they are talking about, Risto is playing the best hockey of his career.
I stopped reading after what I bolded because I really think you need some meds. |

King fallacy
Provide a single credible link from a reputable source that states that Ristolainen is playing the best hockey of his career. |

What is a very good off-season? - furio16
Briere and Jones have said they don't want a 1 and done team, but they want a team that will legitimately contend for a cup for several years in a row. Well, the only way to get that is to build a young core with at least 2-3 elite players and then augment them with veterans. I want to see Briere make significant moves that will move this process along. |

Again contradicting yourself and your previous statement that Ristolainen is a top 4 defenseman on *any* team in the league and is a player that all playoff teams will covet. - MJL
I was referring to the past few seasons, not this season. |

Teams want Risto, that has been documented. But the problem now is Risto is playing so well and loves playing for Torts, he may have more value to the Flyers now than what teams are willing to give up for him. Remeber Risto is not a rental, he still has two years after this one, so Briere has not need to rush to trade him. |

How are they going to acquire 2 elite players this off-season? We will count MM as one. |

Do you know where to get a good pair of flip flops?
It is called selling while value is the highest. A concept the Flyers are not aware of. |

I didn't say they would get them this off season. I said I want to see Briere's plan become clearer on how he plans on getting them, and he can do that by making some good moves this off season. |

Briere may very well trade Risto if the return is right, but I don't think it will be at this deadline. Most likely in the off season. |

So I typed you are verbally attacking people, and you respond with "I really think you need some meds."
You are being very insulting on many different levels to multiple people. Why can't you hold a conversation instead on throwing insults?

Still think declining the PP should be an option. |

Darn playoff chances just dropped to 5% again. ➕️ a ton of quality team to climb over including the Rags. Suddenly they look loose. |
