According to Bob Mckenzie mid season draft ranking has Ivan Ryabkin at 19

So there a possible number 1 center later in the draft
Beginning of the year he was top 5

Also if we picking say 14th then he will be available if Mckenzie is correct

Just wait till Briere goes and tries to fix the goaltending problem by trading for John Gibson. Fedotov plus other assets. ANA moves a tough contract and Fedotov is completely off the books after next season- plus gets more assets.

Unlike you I have zero faith they can draft a top end center where they will pick.

They have a lot of upcoming middling talent. One would think it would look a lot better after missing the playoffs the last 4 years.

Carolina traded a 1C and a combined 78pts for a great winger with 64pts. Plus add the chance that Rananten walks, and this seems like a very risky trade to me. Ballsy, but risky also.
