I actually feel bad for Hughes, he is getting bashed around lately and it appears Miller is the only one capable of trying to protect him. Far too many midgets on this team.

Someone wondered earlier if the two Elias Petterssons were the first set of players in the NHL to play on the same team with the same name. They just posted it on Instagram... they're not! They're the second pairing on the same team. The first were two Greg Adams', and in 88-89 they played for... the Vancouver Canucks!

If a player is forced out of the line up for 10 games, his agent is going to make sure everyone knows it wasn't his client who bailed on the team. There's a lot of damage to Miller's rep because of that and I doubt after everything we've seen with his personality, he's going to let management frame him like that. And what does this say about management if true? To force a guy out then fabricate that he walked from the team? Holy (frank) would that blow up bad.

I get it, you are speculating something that contradicts the official statement. Still, there's more contradictions to your speculation than there is to the official statement.
