All these trade speculations.
I think you guys should wait for the AAA Midget to weigh in with his thoughts. After all it’s not every day you get to access that kind of experience.

No, go through Petey's expected goals for again. That was so enlightening.

Expected is that like 9mths from now? 🤣

The team statement is he took a leave, it boggles the mind how convoluted we get on here sometimes
- neem55

Purely a guess but as another put it told to take a LOA. Turmoil hidden & he’s still paid so value might not drop as far.

Yeah the team is going to come right out and say “ Miller and Tocchet got into a fight, and we”ve now asked Miller to stay home for a little while”
- TurdFergeson

Pretty much. Mgmt doesn’t want the truth out & chose this route.

I get fans concern about Hughes maybe not wanting to re-sign if it is a rebuild, but trading Pouty, Miller, Boeser and Demko should allow for a fairly quick re-tool
- Reubenkincade

If it ever went that far I’d be amazed but mgmt has seen enough to think about it. Major culture change & total remake of the dynamics. Those pieces could fetch a boat load towards that. That said chemistry & identity wouldn’t happen overnight.

I would think they trade Miller in the next week, and then see how the rest of the season goes before making an assessment on Petey. They can see how he does without Miller, and if he's still not showing they can trade him before his NTC kicks in
- NewYorkNuck

That seems the most logical if there is total belief EP will return to his old self. That is a huge risk that could also devalue him if wrong & harder to get the best return.

Miller asap. Then Boeser at TDL. See how Petey and the returns from the two trades work out. Trade Petey in the summer if he doesn't get his ass in gear.

By camp next season, those three trades should have mostly retooled the roster. If it still struggles after all that next season, management and coaches should get canned.

- boonerbuck

Likely how it will go down. I prefer BB gone 1st if a major shake up is the plan. UFA & ask is too high. Miller’s value cannot get any lower imo. Comes down to the arms race & what offers come in that’ll decide order of the dominos falling.

If the club would continue to play like they did last night, winning will solve most of the issues longer term and there will be no need for trades. Just getting the winning culture into the room and getting these guys to play for each other the winning culture would spread through the room no problem. But I don't think this roster is capable of all of that long term.

Miller needs to be done before 4 nations. Let everything settle for a couple weeks and see how it looks after that.
- TurdFergeson

4 nations could also be a blessing if Miller ups his value away from it all in Van.

Of course I agree to that but that is a monumental turnaround of burying the hatchets growing up & getting down to biz. Highly unlikely but if it happened it could be most galvanizing & unheard of.

Imo it starts with Miller saying eff it & go into beast mode on the ice & let others handle their challenges. Become a leader on the ice again let others control the room & only support them. EP start moving his feet & shoot from everywhere. Boeser start running ppl cuz he cannot back check.

Problem is, this is a pattern, and it's been through two different management groups and several different coaches. The mix is bad in the core, period. I used to be ok with keeping Petey, but now I just want him, Miller, Boeser and Demko gone. Let Hughes cook with players that have little to no ego or want to be alphas in the room. Make this completely Hughes team and let's see where it goes.

I though on calling up Raty & make him 2C. Try EP on his wing. An attempt to untrack EP let Garland do zone entries.

Yeah pretty much agree with your pattern assessment here. I think it can be turned around somewhat with the current roster but also fear we will be right back in this spot in no time. I do think packing up Boeser with Miller with net us a good return however and would get us back to the position of respectability but who knows lol

Hawks have to make moves to support Bedard. One thing to rebuild but have the assets to speed it up. Time is now to start adding & definitely the offseason & just not plugs. Let next year & beyond allow prospects to keep developing. Bedard should be doing much better not left on an island hung out to dry.
