Yeah pretty much agree with your pattern assessment here. I think it can be turned around somewhat with the current roster but also fear we will be right back in this spot in no time. I do think packing up Boeser with Miller with net us a good return however and would get us back to the position of respectability but who knows lol

Hawks have to make moves to support Bedard. One thing to rebuild but have the assets to speed it up. Time is now to start adding & definitely the offseason & just not plugs. Let next year & beyond allow prospects to keep developing. Bedard should be doing much better not left on an island hung out to dry.

Contrary to my many posts on EP I do like him & wish he was back to his normal self. I do not believe he is a 1C that can carry that load. He needs lots of team depth as in a top 2nd line & much better puck moving D. That last part is needed no matter what else transpires. A playmaker who can do zone entries on his line would really jump start EP’s game. Marner comes to mind like him or not or what the cost if he goes UFA.

My above 2025 roster also shows the big lack of prospects & keeping picks is a no brainer & suffer the wait on developing has to come about. Building prospect depth is mandatory.

He’s an upbeat kid but that can wear on him & it has to be already.

Bedards agent should step in & ask/force the GM to get serious & surround him with legit talent. There looks to be far too many years to come wasting his early years. Sure can suck again & get another top prospect in the draft this year but assets aren’t helping in the big picture can only go that route for so long. Stockpiled assets & picks are in great shape & need to be utilized.

I prefer an in season retool/reset & continue in the summer. Depends on what can be extracted on who when. It isn’t giving up on the PO’s either hence not really a lost season.

Don’t have to force an all out rebuild still need to push for good returns. A decision on UFA Boeser has to be made & if won’t sign for 4/7m 5/6m max then gone before the TDL. Longer term not a good idea so total dollars imo. 28-30m

Buffalo should have found a way to win that one but man it's tough watching NFL now with the favours Mahomes gets from the refs. Not totally on the refs to be sure but man some timely missed calls sure helped the Chiefs.
