I don't buy that... I don't think the need to get a 1C back is a must in a trade. I hope they keep Petey and he's the 1C, but if they trade them both then there won't necessarily be an established 1C coming back. They have to make a secondary trade in the off-season for one, just like they did when they flipped the 1st for Hronek. - NewYorkNuck
When they flipped the pick for Hronek they already had all their core pieces in place, EP40, Hughes, Miller, Boeser, Demko, but if they trade BOTH Petey and Miller things could get ugly if they don't get a top center back.
There's a lot of "ifs" in that scenario, but I'm hoping for the best, planning for the worst. It's the Canucks after all.
Demko is a shell of his former self, Boeser is a UFA who's going to cost too much money (bye), Miller and Petey are fighting like babies, it's just all heading south. The outlook for the next decade is really bad if this all plays out poorly.
Maybe they get lucky? |

If they trade Petey, I'd rather they get Cozens, Power, and a pick from Buffalo. Posted the Athletic's Buffalo blogger's piece the other day, all those pieces seem to be in play from his/their fan base's side.
Still think they need to trade JT as well. Kaprizov went down in Minny, they need a center... trade Miller for Rossi. Add a sweetener if need be. - NewYorkNuck
Power would be nice as well if it's true BUF would part with him.
I think a Minny deal with Miller is possible if Brock is involved. Minny has kicked the tires on Brock before hometown kid would probably be a good fit there. Thing is if Miller/Boeser were packed up in a deal to Minny not sure equal value would be coming back based on what they have to offer. |

Heiskanen injured. Looks like Dallas just freed up a bunch of cap space until the playoffs. |

I trust Allvin and Ruthy to know more than all of us. They're not going to trade both Miller and Petey without a plan in place.
Again, not advocating for trading both as some are, but if they do then it wouldn't be far fetched to flip some of those assets for a first line center. Maybe Larkin wants out of Detroit, maybe Barzal wants out of the Islanders. We aren't really privy to all that.
But yes, there is the possibility this goes sideways and they're forced to trade away Hughes. Ruthy mentioned that. Hopefully they're able to salvage it with a Miller trade, and the team and reset down the stretch here. |

I've been a fan since I was a kid, I'm almost 60, I'll begrudgingly stick with it long after all these clowns are gone...it is what it is for me, as west coast kid. |

Have to admit, being a Royals fan has made the Canucks stuff easier to stomach. They've built a decent club around the leadership of James Patrick. For a while there it was all suffering with both teams. |

With Hischier out week to week now does that push Devils to take a harder look at JTM? |

Judging by lines at skate yesterday I would think Juulsen is back. Looked like Sasson and D-Petey were scratches. Have to wait and see. |

We're in such a screwed position. Trade Miller and we probably get next to squat back and we become even softer. Trade Petey and Miller probably rifts with someone else and quits in short time. Agree with another poster who said management shouldn't have allowed for the potential of being backed into a corner like this. Should have taken a clear direction back when contracts were up. |

Win tonight and Friday, trade Hogs for B.Tanev and we are back on track for the playoffs baby. Imagine Garland and Tanev on a pooptt disturbing line together. |

No pizza tonight, I'll probably go to the pub. I haven't seen any Royal games this year, but we've gone to quite a few Grizzly games. |

Still would like to keep Miller and Petey and have them grow up but it appears we may be past that point. Sucks as their trade values have dwindled where other GM's don't want to accept risk with these two guys. Just hoping for another W tonight and some attitude turn arounds. Winning solves everything.

Enjoy. I have to stick around home and rest because I got a steroid shot in my shoulder yesterday. Not fun, but I'm servicing one of my turntables to while away time and keep busy. Royals are definitely worth checking out. Big difference over the last few years. |

I'd like to believe there could be a path to growing up and winning solves everything, but when the president comes out and acknowledges everything, it sounds to me like he's preparing fanbase for a meager return b/c gun being held to their head. |
