No. Hasn’t scored since mid November. Only a few assist in same time span. He is horrible defensively. Torts would eat him up. - furio16
Scored twice tonight.
Considering Tippett isn't exactly defensive sound, its okay to give young forward with some talent a shot and see what happens. |

Posters such as myself have been trying to tell you what Tortorella has done to Michkov. Tortorella has leveraged low value skills over high value skills with Michkov. It has caused Michkov to go from a free flowing aggressive and creative player that he was early in the season and turned him into a cautious, safe and non aggressive player who is just trying to please the coach and make safe low value plays. - MJL

Flyers retained 3.5 on Hayes for a 6th. Should they be embarrassed? - furio16
They got rid of Hayes
Big difference, Chicago taking on 5 mil retain and traded hall for a 3rd pick is ridiculous.
You probably at trade deadline get a 3rd just for hall.
We see Marleau 6mil and a 1st rd pick to hurricanes for a 6th.
Blackhawk are ridiculous.

They traded Hall who was on the 4th line and his full 6 mill Cap for a 3rd and retained approx 4.6 mill on Rantanen whos a UFA. Nothing to be embarassed about. They got a 3rd and freed up a little bit of cap space. They probably end up with nothing if they pushed for more. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Think about it, they probably could have gotten a 2 for hall if not a 3rd come deadline, yes you might need to eat some salary, but again you doing that with rantanen.
It makes no sense plus what does Blackhawk need cap space for at this time, they don't have much to begin with

And for multiple years. Hall is a pending UFA. I dont see a problem with the deal from Chicago's POV. They got a 3rd round pick, and freed up a roster spot for Oliver Moore (probably). - MBFlyerfan
I look at like you probably get a 3rd just for hall come trade deadline.
Yes you might eat 50% retained but who cares
Then on top of it you take 4.7 million for Rantanen, you should have gotten a 2nd just for that. Or a prospect |

Danny shows his incompetence everyday by continuing to employ Rocky. An utter disgrace this guy is still an NHL coach for the Flyers. |

Nope. Danny is not only the busiest GM in hockey, in all of sports. 24/7 he is doing his job. Just look at all that has been accomplished. |

Welp, Debs talent > Flyers talent- Briere needs to keep extending the roster players. They are so far away from competing.with NJ and CAR for the division. I have questions about the plan. - Trox88

The Flyers PP the last 3 years shows accountability is a farce. The PK has slid this year, but it has been good in the past.
Actually Rocky deserves recognition because with an average PP, the team probably makes the playoffs last season. They have absolutely no answers on zone entries for the PP. If they lose the initial draw- PP is finished. |

Wait, other teams have a culture and standard? The way the Flyers talk (and the fans eat it up) you would think that having a culture and standard is a uniquely Flyers thing.

Did you see the letter sent out to the season ticket holders for the price raise by Hilferty? He says the Flyers "are building something special"

I go back and forth. Do the Flyers and Hilferty really believe that or is it just a marketing ploy? The other question I have is are the season ticket holders really that stupid? |

Oh stop the BS already with Torts. Look, the system Torts has deployed for this team is an aggressive forecheck, aggressive step up (check forward) in the nuetral zone to create turnovers, and a protect the house (straight lines on either side of the net from the backwall to the top of each circle and then a diagonal to the midpoint on the blue line) scheme in the d-zone, which attempts to keep pucks to the outside while blocking passing and shooting lanes. The only problem I have with this approach is it sometimes leads to the Flyers getting pinned in their own zone for minutes at a time which eventually could lead to breakdowns defensively due to tired players. So it's critical in this system that the wingers are aggressive when they have the chance break up a play and chip the puck out of the d-zone. Carolina deploys a very aggressive d-zone scheme for example. The Flyers are more passive but still there is room for smart aggressive play. I often notice Michkov goes to a spot and stops well short of pressuring the puck, not just on this play, but all the time. It's very hard for a player that is stationary to get his feet moving again quickly and react to a play. In this case Michkov with more hunger for the puck could have broke up that play, and if he was not stationary would not have had to dive for a puck when just by taking 1 or 2 strides more he would have got that lose puck before it was recovered by the Devils.
I am not here to pick on Michkov, he is a 20 year old kid. Instead my only goal is to explain why I think Michkov is not playing big minutes in the 3rd period when the Flyers are tied or leading. Michkov played less than 10 minutes the game before when the Flyers were leading in the 3rd. Last night Michkov played 14:31 with the Flyers down big. |

When they hired Torts the only thing they are "rebuilding" is the culture. Not rebuilding anything else
This really is a Mickey Mouse franchise. Good luck to the people who support this and think this management team has them on the path to contention. You are either blind or dumb. Probably more likely both.
Hilferty is a joke and total laughingstock. |
