Look, the system Torts has deployed for this team is an aggressive forecheck, aggressive step up (check forward) in the nuetral zone to create turnovers, and a protect the house (straight lines on either side of the net from the backwall to the top of each circle and then a diagonal to the midpoint on the blue line) scheme in the d-zone, which attempts to keep pucks to the outside while blocking passing and shooting lanes. The only problem I have with this approach is it sometimes leads to the Flyers getting pinned in their own zone for minutes at a time which eventually could lead to breakdowns defensively due to tired players. So it's critical in this system that the wingers are aggressive when they have the chance break up a play and chip the puck out of the d-zone. Carolina deploys a very aggressive d-zone scheme for example. The Flyers are more passive but still there is room for smart aggressive play. I often notice Michkov goes to a spot and stops well short of pressuring the puck, not just on this play, but all the time. It's very hard for a player that is stationary to get his feet moving again quickly and react to a play. In this case Michkov with more hunger for the puck could have broke up that play, and if he was not stationary would not have had to dive for a puck when just by taking 1 or 2 strides more he would have got that lose puck before it was recovered by the Devils.

I am not here to pick on Michkov, he is a 20 year old kid. Instead my only goal is to explain why I think Michkov is not playing big minutes in the 3rd period when the Flyers are tied or leading. Michkov played less than 10 minutes the game before when the Flyers were leading in the 3rd. Last night Michkov played 14:31 with the Flyers down big.

I watch how Michkov plays in all 3 zones and frankly I have not been happy with his play for well over a month. He has a lot to learn about being a professional and a good NHL hockey player. He is nowhere close right now and I don't blame Torts for that. In fact I don't blame anyone for that. as a long time but now ex-sth, i'll tell you why. they haven't been good for a long time. they just raised sth prices a couple seasons ago and now they're raising them again on an already very expensive and mediocre at best product. what have they done to deserve a price increase?
the other issue is you cant unload your seats for anywhere near face value for the games you cant go to. if your seats and parking pass (don't get me started on that it's another scam). You're buying high and then selling low. It's a fool's game.

That loss was just what was needed, remove all doubt that they need to sell. I want zero reason that DB would give this team a shot because they’re close and the return would not be enough. That is the one thing that could be different from last season, that team was a surprise and had some cohesion. This team is just a bunch of parts, look no further than the PP (though Rocky seems clueless). Find the teams who think they have underachieved this season, who look like they can get in, get their first and hope they collapse down the stretch.

Danny shows his incompetence everyday by continuing to employ Rocky. An utter disgrace this guy is still an NHL coach for the Flyers.

25 years ago it used to cost me 180 a ticket for the seats I choose now the same seats are over 400 a ticket and they are not great seats keep that in mind

See my post upthread. It’s season ticket holders that take the brunt of these increases. If you’re going to buy one or two games a year its not worth getting upset about increases plus when the flyers are as mediocre as they are now you can get tickets below face value on stub hub. Season ticket holders don't have thar option

Nothing you ever post is 100% accurate.

Flyers are not aggressive. They play a sit back boring brand of hockey. They play not to win. Torts coaches losing hockey.

The coach is mainly to blame for the play of MM. He has somewhat neutered him. He doesn’t play him to his strengths. He is much diff player today when compared to Oct/Nov. Stop trying to make him what he isn’t and never will be. Build him to what he does best.
