Actually, how about Jarry & Graves for Grabauer & Stephenson. Two overpaid useless players for One overpaid useless player and one overpaid useful player?
- MacPatty

I think I would absolutely take this. Idc about the 2 years of grabuer. If he is as bad as he is in Seattle (which he will be with our defence) he just helps the tank for two years and then gone. Stephenson over graves would still be an upgrade. The 2 combined for just over 2m more against the cap so I think Seattle needs to include a sweetener. But heck yeah.

I hope we pickup boquist. Not because I think he’ll turn it around here. But he’s an actual right shot and can’t be worse at hockey than Poj on his offside.

Probably worth a try at a position we could use some help. Only question may be if we want to keep our spot in the waiver wire for a better player.

So apparently Kuzemenko and Pelltier are going to the Flyers for Frost based on certain players sitting or being pulled from their games.

Interesting trade. Could make sense for both teams. I don't think any of those players were holding up other deals but hopefully it gets trade season rocking.

That's a warning about prospects. I remember when those two were supposed to be the leaders of the next generation of Flyers. Now gone for a rental D that is struggling and a tweener.

I could get behind this. Seems like a Dubas reclamation project and there is an open spot.

So its:

CGY: Frost & Farabee
PHI: Kuzemenko, Pelltier, 2025 2nd & 2028 7th.

Interesting trade. I wonder if they brought in Kuzemenko purely to give Michkov a russian teammate or if they just want to see Tortorella lose his mind more?

No idea how this really works out. Pelltier is ready to make that next step. I think you could see Frost do really well in Calgary... away from Philly and away from Tortorella. Farabee has a pretty bad contract but he has shown flashes in his career.

I like this deal for Philly better, but it could turn out great for Calgary also.

Where is Gonchar when we need him? If he could do with Boquist what he did with Schultz it would be magic.

He does look like a Dubas reclamation project (former 1st who hasnt panned out), but the problem with these projects is that these guys all end up being the exact same disappointing player they were on their previous teams.

Tomasino & Glass are the exact same bottom 6 players they were in Nashville.

I don't care what anyone says, Marc Andre Fleury is one of the top 5 goalies of all time. That was amazing to see him to into his final start in Montreal, get a huge standing ovation and pitch a shutout. Magic.

It makes me sick that he was one guy who didnt stick around as a part of this core for his whole career. He should have been a lifetime Pen. Really, its been a folly of errors for the Pens since they traded Fleury. Imagine we had actually traded Murray for a 1st or 2nd back in the day?

He made this team have fun and they really haven't seemed the same since he left. And we have won 1 playoff round in 8 years since he left... we almost have the Fleury curse.

Apparently there was a closed door meeting with discussions of the TDL plans and Future plans/goals.

That's a good thing that they do this in private, right?

The owners are flip flopping… yada, yada, yada

Because seeing 3 of my favorite guys to lace them up retire a Penguin (if they want to) is more important then selling them off to kickstart a rebuild that may not bear any fruit.

I have a few friends that work for the organization and elsewhere. They give me tidbits from time to time when we catch up.

Honestly Kuzmenko getting traded gives me some hope that we can trade Jarry and/or Graves.

Yep. I hated Murray from the start and caught a lot of poop about it. Just another Pens tidbit I was absolutely right about. Just like Sullivan, FSG, Dubas.

Well different scenario as Kuzemenko's contract is expiring in a few months vs Jarry and Graves expiring in a few years.

The new salary cap projections are out and holy hell...

25-26 - $95.5M
26-27 - $104M
27-28 - $113.5M

With major economic headwinds coming, get ready for another lockout in a couple years. Totally crazy. This will just further separate the rich teams from the poor teams. You are going to see some massive contracts this offseason!

Think about teams like Montreal and nj who got all their main players signed long term for no more than 8m. That’s gonna be the new 3rd line winger rate

Yeah it is going to be interesting. It's crazy especially when you think of some recent rumors of Rust and Rakell being shopping in the offseason. It's almost dumb to trade them with the new bottom line players making 5 million. It would have helped us if we had an aggressive offseason (which isn't in the plans in order to save money). I do understand the reports since both players have team friendly deals will probably net us a killing easily a 1st, top prospect, and more.

I think next season Pickering, Koivunen, McGroarty, possibly Broz, Brunicke, Ponomarev, and Bemstrom should all be pushing for spots.

And every hockey buzz pens fan will be on her like “He plays 4th line and makes 1.9, you can easily bargain bin that for league minimum so Erik Karlson can get a slight raise!”

Miller to the Rangers for basically Chytl and a top 13 protected 1st... Hell of a deal for the Rangers there.

I knew we weren't in the running for him but at that price, with the cap going up the way it is, we probably should have been.

At least now the Canucks have an extra 1st they can send us for Pettersson?
