Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the club has acquired defenceman Marcus Pettersson and forward Drew O'Connor from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for forward Danton Heinen, defenceman Vincent Desharnais, the rights to forward Melvin Fernström and a conditional first-round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft (acquired from New York Rangers).

In 3 years at the helm PA has traded away (including tonight) 3 first round picks, 3 second round picks, and 4 third round picks which include Hunter Brzustewicz and Fernstrom.

Miller was a massive cancer. More and more indications of just how bad it was with him will surface. I'm sure the friends he has on the team didnt want him to go but that is pretty much the situation with any trade involving a core vet.
