I’m fine with trading Miller but there doesn’t seem to be a plan. The room is still broken. We are the softest team in the league and incredibly weak down the middle. The D be decent now but it’s also soft. The whole team is (frank)ing soft

I can't argue with any of that... so say something else.

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the club has acquired defenceman Marcus Pettersson and forward Drew O'Connor from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for forward Danton Heinen, defenceman Vincent Desharnais, the rights to forward Melvin Fernström and a conditional first-round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft (acquired from New York Rangers).

Upgrade on D

- boonerbuck

Picks are a hot potato lol

Desharnais gone beautiful.
D Pettersson 2.0 an upgrade
Heinen wasn’t doing anything.
O’Connor an upgrade

Pitt got their younger F & high pick

If I’m close to correct that’s a soft F group but a bit bigger.

6m cap space now 10.9m at the TDL.
Cannot forget that after the 2 trades.

Can see the 1st traded & use the cap for 1 more big piece unless resigning Blankinen is the purpose. Still thinking PA isn’t done yet. Boeser?

I think you think this team is going to challenge for the cup. I think they will be lucky to make the playoffs.

I'm thinking EP40 is still going to be traded, either by TDL or in the summer before July 1st.

Well that didn’t take long.
Almost forgot about the other other pettersson with all the other rumours out there.

Our D was suspect af and is now improved.
Stoked to move on from Desharnais. Was never a fan of that signing.
Mgmt know when a signing isn’t working out and aren’t afraid to move on. Good on em.
Heinen and Doc seem like a wash.

Essentially Miller, Heinan, Desharnais, Brannstrom and a 1st For Chytill, Pettersson, O’Conner and Mancini. We got younger and offloaded some mistakes and gained cap space.

I think getting back to consistency then make the PO’s. Those go hand in hand. As for challenge for the cup there will be 16 teams doing so. I think Florida is my favourite same as last year the rest led by VGK out west then maybe Carolina.

I lean towards June. A lot of improvement & winning needed if he’s to stay. He’s been served notice before the Miller trade & up to him & his play.
