Extremely underwhelming return but perhaps other teams don’t value frost and bee that highly and that’s all we could get. I’ll have to look closely at it but does it at least create cap space?

Also, I wonder if there are more moves to come here. It seems certain that petersson or miller are on the move. Puzzling move. Really just a get rid of them trade.

Both needed a change of scenery. Underwhelming return. Looks like they had limited value. Pretty much got nothing back except a 2nd.

This is even worse than I thought....Kuzmenko was run out of Vancouver for not performing, and now out of Calgary. He earns more than Farabee, and Torts will bench him and tear him down to nothing.

Danny got completely schooled on this trade. Absolute garbage of a return.

I’m reading it as a salary dump. Kuz contract is done this year. Bee has term on the contract and frost may have been getting a raise this summer. Trade kuz for a pick at tdl. I think the return was low because Calgary is taking on bee with injury history and underperforming.

I guess a 2nd and cap space once kuz is off the books. They both needed a change in scenery. I expected most to be happy with this. Start getting rid of players to sink as low as you can in the standings. Clearly other teams didn’t value the two players.

It’s like Chuck Fletcher bad….maybe we should hope Briere sits on his hands….because he got schooled again….shocking.

Well look at who Briere was learning from. It's almost as if Danny just gave them both away.

Danny trades for a guy who was on waivers earlier.

Danny trades 2 guys the coach clearly didn't want. Danny really putting his stamp on this team.

Don't see what either player adds going forward. I am sure the coaching staff can get them on track offensively.

Seems that way. I guess you get the cap space but also, what was the market for bee? He’s having a down year. I am still surprised we didn’t get more though you are correct

I’m really not sure the purpose of this trade. It seems that Frost and Farabee would have more value, but apparently not. I have no idea of the 2nd player in the deal from Calgary. I guess a 2nd and 3rd rounds picks have value. Gonna have to wait for the smoke to clear before I criticize GMDB or give him credit.

Isn’t it a 2nd and 7th? To me it’s a salary dump and they just gave up on both players.

What value did they have? Kuzmenko has almost as many points as farabee but with less games played. Frost is a 3rd line center on most teams and he will also want a big pay raise in his next contract.

They got a 2nd and 7th round pick back. I was hoping for a first

The only value Kuzmenko has is that he speaks Russian. I am anxious to see what Pelletier can do but I expect him to be sent to the Phantoms once Tippet and RP are healthy.

Yes. A 7th not a 3rd. My mistake.

Seems to be a salary dump for sure. Wouldn’t it be better to dump players like Risto, Laughton, Seeler, and Hathaway?

I guess this trade will settle one huge issue for us on this board:

If Frost and/or Farabee reach the potential many have thought they have WITH A DIFFERENT COACH…

I agree. But maybe the idea is to dump those guys too. Still, this should still create the effect of having us plummet down the standings for a higher pick. I’m holding out hope that we dump more and have something in play to get a young centre. Wrt Petersen on van. While he’s a nice player, not sure he’s someone I want to go all for to acquire. Is he truly that bona fide number 1 stud centre? He seems to disappear often imo.

I think they’ll be better elsewhere. No question. I don’t see super high ceiling though

Seeler has a NTC this year and next year.
What is Laughton worth, really?
I think Hathaway would be tradable if he had less years on his contract and the same for RR.

Plus, you may want to dump them but the other team would have to accept them. Calgary is battling for a playoff spot and didn't want trash.

On a different note, hockey players are just the best. Did you see the Canadiens line up to shake Fleuy’s hand after the game. For the most part the NHL players are classy.

Not true, big picture we might be a lot worse and that's a good thing to draft high, having more cap space in the up coming season also matters

I'm really not caring about the players we got back, the 2nd rd pick adds to the future.

And I think it's clear we are sellers and watch the tanking begin.

I know ppl think this trade very underwhelming, but long term it's the right move. Yes I wish we got more but I also know frost is overrated and realistically a 3rd line center and bee hasn't been the same.

I'm not trying to say Frost and Bee are both world beaters, but this wasn't good at all.

What you expect from a 3rd line center who needs to be paid next season and a broken bee making 5 mil

I get it. I think frost at least has been shopped for ages. There just wasn’t a market I guess. It was clear he was cooked here and needed a change. Farabee still has term and he’s fallen off a cliff this year. Coupled with the injury history and things what you get. We’re desperate for cap space flex moving forward and I guess this is the cost.

Very true. The Flyers moved on from these two players at pretty much their lowest value point. Both players needed a fresh start, and for the Flyers let the tank begin! The Flyers save some cap space for this year and next, and get another 2nd round pick. Exactly what a rebuilding team does.
