Well... arent you mister brightside on rebuilding properly and bringing in young players. - aecliptic
What’s more obnoxious, us being positive about the possibilities or you guys being judge and jury on a trade that is literally 16 hours old?
And you guys wonder why we are dooshbags |

He plays the type of game that could easily slide down to 3c as his contract ages. Same for Miller to 2c if another 1c came in.
And the $ works too. I’ll give Drury & Co. credit for this one. I dig it. - Bean_Dip
He ain’t as bad as people think. Ill stand by it. He makes proactive moves. No GM in history has or ever will bat 1.000. He is no different |

I don’t know why anyone would think I’m a rebuild guy lol
Brukie is about to come in here again and trash talk me again about taking bows for the president’s trophy. 😆
And you are calling me a rebuild guy. Hilarious - jimbro83
Jimmy do me a favor next time you see your brother can you tell him to stop with the Fox trade proposals? That’s all I want. TJ I am just messing around 😜 |

Having a 3rd line of Kreider Zib Smith and telling them just concentrate on being a shutdown line come playoff time could be huge. Things could get fun around here. - nyrangers9479
I agree with this and people should be rooting for a Zibanejad reset rather than a benching or a trading it’s huge that he’s 3C and not 1C

Im going to be very clear on all this. A couple years ago I was all about going after JT Miller, before he resigned with Vancouver. Hes definitely the type of player this team needed, and to some extent this team still needs. If we were in the same position we were in last year and had made the trade, Id feel a little more different about this situation. However, this team is not playing well, theres clear issues that I think are beyond just trading for Miller. In my opinion its like covering a turd with diamonds, on the surface its bright and shiny, but at its core its still a turd. Chytil in recent games looked good and was noticeable in games. The concussion thing is very concerning but gotta call a spade a spade.
Which is why I think Miller will line up with Zib because they will continue to try to get other players to elevate the vaccuum that is Zib. I cant see them putting their 8.5m center on the third line. This is another part that frustrates me, no Im not a professional coach, but also how the players are used in the lineup that I feel they will fail at as well because as I said they will try to force things to happen instead of accepting things for what they are.
Also wish they had gotten Desharnais in this trade. |

One thing is for sure, the pressure is definitely off of Zib now. And that can only help his game. He can just play, maybe accept a new role as a defensive minded player. We know what he an Kreider can do that because of the PK prowess. Smith adds to that line too. |

Desharnias is terrible dude. Just read the Vancouver blog. They see him every game. He’s huge but slow as poop |

They have the 2nd half of the season now to assess how Zib looks as the true 3C. Then can make whatever moves need to be done this summer |

Would be nice if JT obliterated Marchand right off the bat and then maybe made Mika cry on the bench after he passes it on a breakaway |

If this is really how you feel, how are you upset by a trade that, without a doubt, makes them a better team in nearly every way except for average age? |

No team is out till they are eliminated. I didn't have faith last season until you pushed me to be optimistic at the end, after they had a 50+ win season. Do you really think that now I'm going to be a little optimistic at all??
Our star players disappear, our defense is suspect at best and Igor like to play from behind. Miller doesn't fix these things.
I will wait a good sample size to see how things transpire. |

Well I just mean Vancouver probably thinks the chances that they would get a 2026 lottery pick out of this from the Rangers were probably pretty remote.

JT definitely adds a mean streak to Cuylle and Vinny. I disagree with whoever says that they’re not harder to play against today compared to yesterday. |

I think you’re right, I don’t see him moving down yet. I’d try Zib at wing and if that doesn’t work move him to 3C.
3rd line could be Kreider-Carrick-Smith which would be solid. |

I’m my own person with my own opinions here but I’m assuming they are still trying to win now so that pick, 2025 or 2026, won’t help them get there. |

I don’t see any reason to break up the 4th line or any reason for them to increase Careick’s role after acquiring JT Miller
Carrick is being used just right |

All you have to do is look at the beginning of the this blog to see me saying that I did not think that Drury was a guy that could fix the mix, but I am admitting that he made a really good deal here-u just have to open your eyes to see it.
To repeat: Chytil is a guy that you have to sit on eggshells because the next hit could be his retirement,
First round draft choices are good to have, but I rather have a proven 1c than a could be
Depth down the middle is very strong. It’s a whole new lens to see zib at 3C . he definitely can rebound and thrive in that role - as mentioned he has remained an excellent penalty killer |

The pressure is definitely not off Zib, it's actually more cause he knows he is the root of the problem and they had ti trade for a better center. |

I agree, just not sure I see Lavy moving Zib down. If it’s not Zib or Carrick that makes JBrod your 3C. We should know the lines shortly id think. |

You’re not grasping things.
Zib now has a tough time playing vs the Barkovs, the Hugheses, the Crosbys, etc..but he’ll have an easier time playing against the Pageaus, the Ellers, the Haulas, etc. Home matchups especially
You’ll grasp it one day, I have faith in you |

This team is not better in nearly every way with this one trade.
Again the enthusiasm of getting a star player covers the team deficiencies and sells tickets.
Your comment alone proves it |
