The tension here is just silly. Online pissing matches galore.
Rangers are having a bad season.
This core group doesn't seem to have it, as evidenced by the past numerous playoff loses. Last season may have been the peak for this core, and just couldn't make it.
Re-tooling makes sense. But I for one disagree with the trade for JT Miller. Not that the Rangers gave up too much, however, that it does not fit the bill of retooling for future success.

If we can move out Zib and Kreider, thats a significant chunk of change. Maybe one of them could return a Dman. - aecliptic
I agree. I would like to see them trade Krieder. He has been an excellent Ranger. But business is business and the writing is on the wall IMO.
HOWEVER, based on the article quoting Lav, it seems that Krieder is considered for the C. This blows up the idea he will be traded. |

Then you need to replace them, a 3c and 2 RW's
Zib, CK20 and Smith - Brukie
By the same logic that was used for Carrick. The 3 of them are making 20m. A third line could be put together for half that. Especially if we bring Berard back, who i thought played very well and played with the kind of feistiness we need on the team, as well as possibly Othmann. I know you dont want him because of age, but hes a good hockey player, you go after Brock Nelson who will be a FA. Im sure at this point of his life he would rather not relocate his family after spending his career on LI. A younger, and more costly option could be Sam Bennett who we grew to loathe playing for Florida. Either one centering Othmann and Berard could be a solid 3rd line. |

Zib Panarin Kreider have all had career years these past few years that they will likely (being they’re all about to be 32+) never be beat. Fox has something wrong with him, forget his offense, his defense has been WOOOFFF bad. Yes, his partner doesn’t help, but you look at 1 of (4 I believe) the goals he was on the ice for and he had a step on the opposing player. Lets the player skate right past him without so much as touching him all the way from the blue line, take the puck all the way around, still UNTOUCHED and sets up the goal. He’s been bad, real bad. This wasn’t the right time for this trade and I’m done hearing about it’s a trade for the future with a bunch of aging vets on the decline. |

Yea, Fox is definitely playing below his station. This team needs a physical and mental shake up to knock whatever cobwebs are in their head.
Rangers would be suited trading for young promising players and stock piling young d-men. Build around and empower the next generation core like Laf. Let them take center state versus being in the shadows. |

Im not sure Im ready to trade Fox yet. I want to see him paired with someone who can hold their own. |

I’m over it man. Great player and all, but another one that doesn’t step up when it matters and lead by example. We need to build a team built for the playoffs, not a team built for regular season success that folds when it matters most.
Fox last 23 playoff games, 0 goals. Build a defense that is big, physical and tough that can clear the crease and help out Shesty. Fox is a defensive version of Panarin, when it gets physical he wilters. |

I would love for this team to find a Chris Pronger type of defenseman. |

The 3 of them account for 9 million. No way we get 2 top 4 defense men for less than 6 mil per. Not with this Cap rising.
Even though we are the team that will benefit the most with the Cap rising. - Brukie
Gotta move one of the older core vets for more cap. Replace with home grown younger player. They need a better top 4 |

Getting rid of Fox is insane. You will never get back equal value. You pair him with a legit top pairing guy who can hold down the fort. Fox is not our issue.

Exactly. You never win trading the elite player. They will never get value back |

This is one of the dumbest fukin things I’ve seen. If you trade him you don’t retain money at all. And that trade is terrible |

I just wanna know why he never gets blame over the last few years…..and it’s always Lindgren, Zib, Kreider, Shesty, Panarin, Coaches, GMs, etc. the list goes on before it even approaches Fox. He makes 9.5 million dollars, which is more then Zib
Like yesterday, watch the goals against and tell me how he isn’t at least somewhat responsible for them going in. In arguably the biggest game of the season he was bruuuutal.
The 5th goal was especially infuriating. He drives by Shesty getting in his line of sight in the slot with zero attempt/effort to block a shot that goes in the net, right after they make it 4-2.
Second goal I think…He loses a battle with Matthew Poitras, of all people, who he could be bigger then, who then passes the puck in front and we blame Lindgren because his guy scored Teflon Foxy in effect |

He’s been destroyed this year. Every ranger has been called out at some point. This is really his first bad year
