The Isles' PK has regressed.
I get the penalty on Pageau, but what about the Jet who tripped Casey just before Casey got hit in the neck by the puck? |

Imagine if the Isles had beaten the Rangers we could actually be moving into the the final playoff spot tonight....
Whats my point? I'm really afraid Lou ain't selling folks |

I have no idea what Lou's going to do. However, he's a fool not to sell.

Definitely nice to see Brock get choked up talking about playing for the Isles....now trade him. We can talk this summer |

Yup, we have to hope that this win doesn't give Lou false hope. Nelly and Palms both scored tonight and otherwise played well. A couple extra first round picks could be a big shot in the arm for this team.

I would take him back this summer on a short-term contract that doesn't break the bank.
By the way, based on Nelly's reaction, I suspect Lou has asked him (or his agent) for his 16-team no trade list. |

So go out and grow a beard. Lou did more for this team than any GM since Bill Torrey.
Go ahead and tell me how Maloney, Regier, Milbury and Snow made this team more competitive or viable as a team in the NHL than Lou? - nyisles7
I’m kinda scratching my head with your take. The goal is to compete for the cup. The isles are farther away now than when Lou took over. It’s not a knock on the hall of fame GM. It’s just simply not working. Why is it bad to want a fresh set of eyes 6 years later? |

Obviously he’s privy to his agents negotiations with Lou (if any). He seemed like he knew that was his last game as an islander. My take anyway.. |

Those other GMs probably would not have minded working for stable ownership like Lou has gotten with Malkin and Ledecky. Those other GM made their mistakes, but they had to deal with a lot more problems. Malkin and Ledecky do not have a tiny budget like past ownership. Lou never had to trade a player like Palffy over money. Lou also had a new building and had the money to pay a coach like Barry. It was not hard for Lou to be better than them. The problem is the team is a mess now and it does not matter what the other guys did. |

I don’t look at this as a shot at Lou. I think Lou is a HOF GM and his resume speaks for itself. My feeling at this point is this team looks like it’s ran its course and with a GM who’s 83, it appears it’s time for some fresh eyes.
My hope is the next GM can field a top NHL first line, which also means a legitimate PP1

I don't usually watch any of the postgame stuff, but I happened to be doing stuff around the house and left it on. It sure seemed like he was on his way out given how emotional he and Shannon got during his postgame interview. It definitely did not seem like the emotions of someone who was going to be staying.
I have tremendous respect for the guy and his career on the Island, but it's time for everyone to move on. |

The Islanders were competitive for most of Lou’s term. My take is he’s done a good job.
This team for the first time in a long time has credibility and respect.
It’s time for a retool no doubt. Does he want to start a rebuild? I’m thinking he will give the GM role to someone else if he stays on as President.
I just hope the next GM is half as good as the Internet GMs out there. If so we should have a cup in no time.

I keep telling y'all, this is the most seller of seller's markets.
Cash in if you can because teams are lining up to pay through the nose.
Now is the time to leap if they want to try and retool as quickly as is possible. Sell Nelson and Palmieri with 50% retained and get paid big time. Sell literally almost anybody else as well. |
