This is outrageous. If these are the prices out there and Lou doesn't trade Nelson I'm going to lose my mind. - eichiefs9

I keep telling y'all, this is the most seller of seller's markets.
Cash in if you can because teams are lining up to pay through the nose.
Now is the time to leap if they want to try and retool as quickly as is possible. Sell Nelson and Palmieri with 50% retained and get paid big time. Sell literally almost anybody else as well. - eichiefs9
Sell anyone if the return is worth it. Literally anyone.

Have to think the Devils will want Nelson if Hughes is out.

As Staple wrote in his latest, I've also heard that #Isles are still active in trying to re-sign Brock Nelson. Nelson said at MSG that he didn't have to have a contract by Friday. Ideal for NYI to get a deal done before then, obviously, if that's the intended route.

Should be interesting. Nothing can be ruled out. - ses111
I wouldn’t be shocked in the least. I say that but I would lose my (frank)ing mind. Lou is totally capable of doing something this incredibly dumb. He has done much dumber things since he has left the Devils(he did some real stupid sh!t to them on the way out also to be fair). The real problem is if he’s focused on doing this and it doesn’t happen he’s going to have to refocus on trading him which means he’ll botch it. |

I'm not losing my mind with this team anymore. Whatever happens, life goes on and I still have to work. I'm not going to the games and will continue to skip watching games as needed. They can do whatever they want.

The devils have announced that Jack Hughes will be out for the remainder of the season in the playoffs with shoulder surgery…. This thoroughly increases the chances Brock Nelson and Palmieri end up in NJ…
Devils do not own a #1 in this year's draft. They have three #2's Oilers, Jets, and Devs own. They have a#1 in next year's draft. |

To me it’s stupid for the devils to try and win a cup without Hughes thinking Nelson would take his place. Not saying you are saying that but there’s a lot of speculation about it.
Edit: you are saying that. If I were Fitzgerald I wouldn’t give up to many assets hoping to replace Hughes. Not happening. But hey I hope you are right and they do. |

Naa, was just pointing out with all the speculation what draft picks the Devils have. Also, Hughes is becoming an injury liability. Two shoulder surgeries in three years. not good. No even sure if it was the same shoulder.

If lou doesn't trade nelson and he doesn't have an extension by the deadline I may lose it. He's going to resign palm and Nelson isn't he? Best seller market in forever he better not blow this, if Brock loves it here he can resign after the season |

He's listed at 175 lbs. Even that may be a bit of an exaggeration. A tad skinny for today's NHL.

I gotta believe that Lou knows this is the exact moment to capitalize on it being a sellers market and gets “over value” for assets. Nelson and Palmieri would be foolish to accept Lou’s extension. They can get more money on the open market. Who wouldn’t want to go to a new city when you make that kinda money. It’s not everyday you get the chance to change cities and get a new look. My take anyway..
I think Lou is drumming up interest and actually playing the hand properly. Someone is gonna pay up and give up more than they should to land Nelson, Palmieri and or JGP. The isles are in the drivers seat for once. |

Ek has Nelson staying with the Isles at 60%.
