Sensing a lil sarcasm from Johnny Sac...However I must agree. The journeyman D did not have a shot at scoring that goal in overtime to give the Isles their first cup in 42 years. Way to nail it.

As I reported Thurs, the #Isles    have offered a 2-year extension to keep Kyle Palmieri. The two sides are speaking later this morning, upon which a decision will be made (sign him or move him). There's been trade interest in Palmieri, as well as J-G Pageau & even Anders Lee. -Pagnotta

It would be other level stupid if he traded Brock and signed Palmieri. Trade whatever you can.

First reaction is that the isles fleeced the avs by a lot of people that cover hockey. Athletic gave the avs 3 A grades and the isles 2 A+ and an A. Now continue to retool and move Palms and lee and Pageau

Let’s wait to see what the Isles HB experts think before you go celebrating. Lou made this trade correct?

Would anyone be shocked if lou turns around and flips these 2 for a player to still compete in this year's playoff run?

Id prefer to keep selling

Gross reporting Lou offered Nelson three yrs at 7.5 per. Nelson was looking for more term. Dodged a bullet there.

Definitely. Trading Palms makes a lot of sense. Isles don't need him to finish the season, so trade him as a rental and recoup some more value........whether draft picks or prospects.

Agreed. He’s gonna get a 4th year I would bet. The thing is, his value in trade was greater than his value as an islander. If the isles can unload Palmieri, JGP etc, they could have seriously rebuilt the anemic prospect pool in one year. Now’s the time IMHO.

Re-tool can go a lot quicker by trading Palms, Lee, JGP with the Cap space and picks or prospects added.

Brutal. He's also reportedly still trying to extend Palmierri at this hour.

At this stage the Isles have $29m in cap space for next season. If they unload Palms, Pags and Lee, we're talking $47m. They can also end up with a boatload of 1st and 2nd round picks after this week and instantly have a deep prospect pool.
The combo of these things along with the players already in place can put us in a helluva good spot fast.

Be real funny if Lou got all these picks and prospects and traded them all at the draft and poof we have a new vet team.
