If the isles win tonight, a back to back game, against an elite team, without Barzal I’ll become a believer. Furthermore if the games leading up to the break are more wins, I think Lou becomes a buyer at the deadline and re-signs Nelson and Palmieri.

I think Lou does this whether they win tonight or not. I also believe it would be the worst thing this team could do but I fully expect Lou to do exactly that.

Obvious mixed emotions of course. They have been playing great. Problem is they are what they are. I don’t expect this team to have a chance at a cup unless they have that one in a thousand lightning in a bottle moment. I’m not willing to mortgage the future and hope that happens. I’m a huge Nelson fan but the last thing I want to see is us signing him again.

Lou of course will do exactly that. This would be a tough decision for any other GM. For Lou our current streak made a decision he was more than likely already making even more easy.

Yeah I’m with you. I’ve said before if they continue this streak leading into the break, I can see Lou being a buyer and adding for a run. I honestly don’t know what the right thing is, but I definitely don’t think they should let Nelson or Palmieri test the market. That’s a recipe for failure that we isles fans know too well.

I think Lou should sell. I tend to think he won't, but I have no idea what's he's going to do. The worst thing for a sports franchise is mediocrity. It's tough to snap out of that.

Even the most optimistic Isles fans on here were sellers a month ago before they somehow put it all together and went on this run. If they keep rolling into the 4 nations break and resume their play after, I can’t imagine Lou moving Nelson or Palms. They’ currently are and will be the hottest team in the league. Not sure I’d blame him if he let it ride at that point, as much as I want something for Nelson rather than letting him walk. IF they happen to keep it together, they’d have beaten some of the top teams on a lengthy run missing some of their top defenders.

Yeah it’s not as easy decision as it once was. If Nelson actually did walk that would be real bad. I also think resigning him would be as well. The guy is 33 and Palmieri is 34. They aren’t going to get better that’s not how this works. 😆

The right thing to do is moving Nelson and Palms. The streak has been nice, but the regular season and playoffs are very different and it does not mean this play will carry over.

Yeah I get it…..I was lambasting Lou and the roster a month ago. I think it’s a tough decision on what to do with Nelson and Palmieri but I also watch for this kinda hockey. It’s exciting when your team ties a game and then gets the dub in OT. The new 3 defensemen bring an element that’s been lacking for a while. I can’t remember the last time a dmen was hit with a pass for a breakaway in OT (and scored). When the team is healthy they’ll have a logjam on D which lends itself to Lou trading one, and adding for a run. At the end of the day I’m happy when they win, so I want more of it.

Typically fans want their teams to play well and win. I’m with you!
Just hope if Lou does trade Palms and Nelson or anyone else the timing is right!
They haven’t made the POs picture yet and there’s a lot of work to do.
If we don’t qualify there will be changes.

Yeah the games leading up to the break will make the decision I think. Tonight will be a good test with all the injuries. But, they’re playing confident which is fun to watch.

If the winning continues to a points of playoff contention, maybe Lou moves Dobson for more scoring.

We’ll see where they are after the next 10 games before the deadline. I hope they keep winning. But with all the injuries I’m not sure that’s possible. A month ago I wanted them to lose and get anything they could for anything not tied down. Now I want them to keep rolling. We’ll see a where they are a month from now I guess.

Yeah, I get your perspective. I just can’t see them winning the cup albeit with some super small, sliver, of a chance. I can’t see mortgaging the future success of the team for a possible first round exit again. With that said I understand the want for the team to continue winning from some fans. But I believe the potential long term negatives outweigh any short term positives in this situation.

Might be a tough watch but I’ll be routing for my team. He may have been offering Dobson and the injury put a kink in it if he was. I don’t think we will ever know. I would have totally let him go for Petersson but that ship has sailed.
Certainly there will be a log jam at D when all are healthy and if we’re in a PO spot there might be a trade or 2 who knows.
Again if they aren’t a convincing PO team there will be changes. They have a lot of work to do to get in but they have certainly made some noise in the last couple of weeks.

I know Dobson has been pretty terrible this year but I’m real hesitant to trade him. Especially for something for a “playoff push” this season. That would be short sighted imo. The kid is only 25. We could probably sign him on the cheap now to another bridge like contract. Maybe I’m still recovering from the Toews trade. 😆

Yeah I’m not all about trading Dobson. They had really high hopes for him being part of the Norris discussion club. If he was moved I don’t think it would be for a rental but for a young top line guy. I wanna see Dobson with the new additions. DeAngelo can play….he reminds me of Wisniewski

I wanted Lou to get Deangelo when he went to the canes. This time around I had little faith he would be a good signing in all honesty but understood why Lou did it. I hope the kid keeps it up and gets his career back with us.

Unfortunately I expected this. I haven't been able to watch for the last bunch of games due to work and stupid espn+. Now I can watch and they come out like this.
