In theory but hardly happens. Doug Weight comes to mind but again it’s rare.
Palms had a house out east he lives in in the off season. His family loves it here. If he goes and resigns a good team deal I would love it.
Maybe we see it. Time isn’t over yet.
Trades are announce well past the 3pm deadline due to league back logs.

Then…if he goes, he goes.

You’ve admitted yourself, we should be selling. Why sell off one piece and call it a day? I appreciate what Lou has done in his time here. He and Trotz turned us around. But we are clearly on the downslope now, with one of the lowest rated prospect pools in the league. Lou will get a 1st for 21 and you know it.

These guys fill a hole these teams were looking for I guess. Also some have played with others on the team or for coaches in the past. If I had these answers I would be part of the expect GM’s on this site.

I don’t understand your need to think this way.

Do you, 7, think he’s worth a 1st round pick or not? Yes or no. Right now. Not tomorrow, not at the draft, this minute here?

Pageau Palmieri Mayfield all practicing

What is 'Three players I'd trade' , Alex

Edit: Cizikas is practicing. Does not appear anybody is being held out from #Isles    practice here in San Jose - Gross .

Because we don’t know what’s being offered in all honesty m.
Hey look if he signs Palms for 1 or 2 years at a team friendly contract I wouldn’t have a problem with it. But again I don’t know what being discussed in Lou’s conference room at Northwell.
Some on here obviously have the inside track. I certainly don’t.

Don’t worry, we traded Nelson already.

Man, I appreciate not being a laughingstock dormat for a few seasons, it was nice, but we’re right back to square one at this point.

If people like me are apathetic about this season and this team, then what does that say about casual fan? You want to park for $40 and buy $20 beers to watch a mediocre team lose 50% of the time you go? I don’t.

He’s practicing so he’s not leaving so it’s moot at this point. I never said anything about not liking him as a player or a person. I’d take him back on a short-term team friendly deal (although I don’t know why he’d do that). It’s just Lou let a golden opportunity slip through his fingers and anyone who follows this league has to be scratching their head right now.

I don’t know the answer to that.
Maybe what was offered for him wasn’t a high enough level vs signing him and keeping him at a team friendly contract. Need to see the extension. He may have asked Lou to not trade him for a team friendly contract.
I think we have to wait and see what the opening day roster looks like.

Palmieri has NO value after 3pm. It’s that simple.

At least some get it.

Yeah, I'm in agreement. This season is shot. I would have held out for trade anybody on an expiring contract who was going to be a UFA. I'm glad Lou traded Nelson, not because I didn't like Nelson, but because of the assets he acquired. I was hoping he would do the same thing with Palmieri, and for the same reasons. And I would even have looked into trading DeAngelo and others, in case there was interest. Stockpiling picks and prospects to rebuild the farm would have been a good way to end the season on a high note.

Big rumor that Marchand is going to Florida. Friedman himself is tweeting this.

If Boston can trade him, then surely any GM/team can trade any player because he is synonymous with that franchise and city than arguably any player in the entire league. And, to an in-division rival, no less.

So do the owners. They need more people than you.

Do they want 9,000 people at these games or 15,000?

At the very least, it'd be nice to hear an explanation, beyond the usual "believe in the group" platitudes, about what the actual vision is supposed to be for this team at this moment. I have no idea if they're supposed to be going for it or retooling. This past offseason and this deadline combined seem like a disappointing failure no matter which strategy you favor.

in the good old days, i could get single tickets for Richard kickings against poop teams like the atlanta thrashers, sneak in my own booze and blunts, get obliterated in between periods, and pay about $50 total, and that was with taking the train from and back to brooklyn. nothing is that cheap anymore up there. absolutely crazy.

Agree 100%. We have enough pieces to be competitive again, and soon. We have players whose primes aren’t more than 3 or 4 more years tops. This season and next season should be springboards, not the very definition of mediocre.

The train didn't go to the Coliseum.

Lou does not talk. There is no excuse for how Lou operates as GM. He is out of touch and stuck in the past and Barry made him look good during those ECF runs.

I was getting into the Coliseum for $15 back in the mid to late 90s. Things have changed a lot and people are broke. The owners can’t expect the building to sell out when they’re a .500 team in a league where being .500 means nothing.
