Then…if he goes, he goes.

You’ve admitted yourself, we should be selling. Why sell off one piece and call it a day? I appreciate what Lou has done in his time here. He and Trotz turned us around. But we are clearly on the downslope now, with one of the lowest rated prospect pools in the league. Lou will get a 1st for 21 and you know it.

That good will is running thin. Sure, things were looking up when he got here, but where are we now? Between the terrible contracts, poor asset management, inability to attract top line free agents, are we any better off now than we were with Snow at this point?

Damn…and they traded Carlo to (frank)ing TORONTO. And you’re telling me we can’t trade Palmieri. 😂😂😂

Pretty sure I wrote we’re back to square one like 2 sentences after I wrote that sentence 🤷‍♂️

I was getting into the Coliseum for $15 back in the mid to late 90s. Things have changed a lot and people are broke. The owners can’t expect the building to sell out when they’re a .500 team in a league where being .500 means nothing.

yeah it's a major issue. i made friends with lots of diehards whose lives revolved around the team and were there for every game no matter how bad they were, but the economy was significantly less poopty then...and now we're old people

Not much difference between Garth and Lou's roster work. Both did pretty much nothing during the offseason to improve the team.

yeah, that poop was mad annoying, i would hitch rides from hempstead. often times my friend was performing in plays at NCC so i'd walk over there after the game and tell the workers i'm the actor's cousin

Well, now at least you can take the train all the way to the Elmont station.........and then walk or take the shuttle bus a mile.

Not to make this about lifestyle or anything but I don’t have the time or the money to go see a team I know will constantly disappoint me. My kids have a ton of poop they do, every weekend (they’re 14 and 10). I work until 10:30pm every weeknight, so that’s not an option for me at all. And I barely have enough money to live month-to-month, let alone splash a half a grand to bring my family to a game on the one Saturday night my kids actually have nothing going on. lol. It’s insane.

At the very least, it'd be nice to hear an explanation, beyond the usual "believe in the group" platitudes, about what the actual vision is supposed to be for this team at this moment. I have no idea if they're supposed to be going for it or retooling. This past offseason and this deadline combined seem like a disappointing failure no matter which strategy you favor.
- UIF

Like I said, get ready for the I didn’t like the offers mantra. The reality is like Keaner said this guy just doesn’t do retools or rebuilds. That’s why he was jettisoned out of his last two jobs.

This team is not worth going to see. Pay big money for a bunch of 3 and 4th liners? This team is not serious about winning. Been proven time and again. Lou is like a cult leader with these players.

Coyle, Marchand and Carlo all in an hour.

I don’t envy the position they’re in (even though we’re pretty much in the same position, lol) but I respect their ability to strike while the iron is hot and recognize this is a down yer for them. They’re always near the top and this is a big example why.

I’m sure I’m done after this but here’s a good question.

If this team is good enough to make the playoffs, why would you trade Nelson then?

You made an already mediocre team more mediocre yet you’re keeping the rest of the roster as is.

Gonna guess more than a 2nd and a 4th. In division too.

Lou's brilliant logic. He did not even want to trade Nelson.

Then why did he? That’s the question.

Might as well of kept him if you’re going “all in” or whatever you’d call this.

Coyle + a 5th for Middlestadt, Zellers and a 2nd.

The other trades have not been fully reported.

Edit: Now I just read that Boston got Minten for Carlo.

Lou wanted to sign Nelson. It was only after they couldn't reach a deal that Lou delt him. Lou didn't want to trade anyone.

Yep. Good asset management. That’s what good GM’s do. Get a return on what you have instead of signing players into mediocrity. That’s what bad GM’s do.

This site was unusable for months and somehow on deadline day it’s basically fine. Have the pop-ups and malware crap been taken care of?
