Still one of the best PK wingers out there. Don't really care if he's on the 4th line.

He won't be, though. He'll be playing every shift with Sidney Crosby. His play no longer warrants it.

Yep.

That and maybe a "Sorry we left you off the World Junior club twice"

- BINGO!

Who needs a guy with 7 goals and 11 points in 9 games in the AHL at 19?

I think they'd be more inclined to having Captain Crosby centre MacKinnon and a finisher like Reinhart

Team Canada has some dumb selections.

Jarvis, Bagel, Montemblow

- Arctic_AARDVARK

Only 13 Canadian born forwards have scored 20 or more goals this year.

6 of them (Scheifele, Kyrou, Vilardi, Wilson, Tavares, Huberdeau) are not on the team.

The 7 that are:
Reinhart
Point
Hagel
McDavid
Konecny
MacKinnon
Jarvis

Edit: Not changing any of the below, but Adam correctly notes after this message that Daccord is a mons . . . er, American.
Hagel is an excellent choice and deserves to be there. Montembeault isn't that bad of a selection.

Among Canadian goalies this year, this is your list:

1. Thompson, GSAx of .918/60 in 29 games
2. Blackwood, GSAx of .81/60 in 19 games (Colorado only)
3. Daccord, GSAx of .604/60 in 35 games
4. Kuemper, GSAx of .575/60 in 28 games
5. Allen, GSAx of .532/60 in 19 games
6. Montembeault, GSAx of .352 in 39 games
.
8. Hill, GSAx of .228/60 in 33 games
.
10. Binnington, GSAx of .009 in 37 games

The real snub was selecting Binnington over Thompson and Hill over Daccord, in my opinion. You could make a case for Blackwood, Daccord, Keumper - or even Allen - but Blackwood's overall numbers were worse than Montembeault when he played on a poor team.

Thompson has been exceptional this year.

Daccord probably, given last year's equivalent success, should have garnered more consideration.

Kuemper I'll admit I'm not a huge fan of due to his inconsistency. Like I often feel that he'll make a save but he won't make the big save.

Allen . . .I don't know. He's a backup and has a losing record on a winning team. I'm not sure you rely on a guy like that to get the job done.

Montembeault is a good goalie - although he did really stink up the joint last time we saw him against the Leafs.

I've watched a ton of Hagel and he's got wheels that don't stop. You can always count on him and Cirelli to bring A+ effort every night, even when the rest of the team looks tired or off.

I wish the Leafs would trade for Cirelli. He's gonna be wasted in Tampa from now on.

Hagel and Marner are tied for 9th in the NHL in 5v5 points - the only Canadians with more 5v5 points are future first ballot HoF'ers - McDavid, MacKinnon and Crosby. While some could make the argument that both of these guys have benefited from playing with other players (like Kucherov or Matthews), Hagel has played less with Kuch at 5v5 than Marner has with Matthews.

I have no problem with him being selected for the team.
