I watched the Sens vs Preds game last night, the Sens have a bit of bite to their game, I like it. They're only two points behind the Leafs now.

Of course they do. They built around tkachuck (reminds me of miller) and not a Swedish fashion model

2025 NHL Trade Deadline March 7.

Not sure if we're gonna see a lot more movement from the Canucks but here's a few guys who should be moving on.

Boeser - pending UFA.
Suter - pending UFA.
Forbort - pending UFA.
Juulsen - pending UFA.
PDG - pending UFA.

Petey - we all know the reasons.

I think Raty and Sasson are ready for bottom six roles with the big club, which potentially also makes Blueger a trade target.

- Pacificgem

I think Suter (and to a degree Blueger) are guys you try and keep if the price is right. Versatile, PKers, and from what I've read really good guys in the room... which after last year's exodus, might be worth paying more attention to.

Boeser and if we waives Soucy are good TDL chips. Not sure if Forbort or Juulsen get you much.

Yes, yes he does. They definitely feed off of Tkachuk's energy. Giroux is also a bit of a shit disturber, he's mouthy on the ice. I know you don't like him but at 37 he's still got some game left in him.

1102 points in 1235 games #67 all time in NHL points. One behind Frank Mahovlich.

I don't mind Giroux, but it gets you riled up a bit if people don't like former Flyers.

Yes it does, if they're good players. I've got Giroux's black third Flyers jersey with numbers/name and the "C" on it in my office. Lost in the 2010 finals with the Flyers, as close as he ever got to winning a Cup, but he was a great Flyer!! Should've won the MVP in 2018.

I forgot about Soucy, who's having a tough year. With the acquisition of M-Pettersson and the emergence of D-Petey I think they can move on from Soucy. He could be a good fit on a contender.

Suter and Blueger, in my opinion you need to make room for younger players who've proven they deserve time in the NHL with the big club or you're not going to get the Sasson's of the world to sign with you as a free agents. He's proven he should be in the NHL and he's half the price of Suter and Blueger.

He cleared, he's in Abby now, I believe. But he can still be traded.
- Pacificgem

Didn't know he cleared. They can maybe get a 3rd or 4th for him if lucky.

It's Soucy, DPetey, and Forbort cycling into the 3rd pairing D slot. DPetey has played better than Soucy so far, he deserves the time. Soucy could be a good get for a playoff team, something like a 2nd.

I agree for making room, but the problem you run into is if you jettison all your vets and the young guys struggle or are inconsistent... you're (frank)ed. That says nothing of the locker room culture you're putting a hole in, and also the special teams – Blueger and Suter are the first unit PK forwards. Definitely not worth overpaying, but also worth balancing it out, especially when they have to keep Quinn happy so he doesn't try to leave.

Trading Soucy for a 2nd would be perfect, you can always get some quality talent and experience in free agency on the cheap. Depends where they sit on March 6th.

I don't really like this part of your comment. Right now Canucks are playing with three 3rd line centers and a fourth with Blueger. If you bring in two more 4th or 5th line centers the team will be unwatchable.

Too early to say but I think Chytil (Filipino) can move to 2nd line center. Canucks still need a 1C.

The D looks mostly done if they sign M Petey.I would also keep this G tandem.

Now you need to work on the forward group. I don't think Likker is who we were hoping he was going to be, to me he looks right now as a third liner..

Keep an eye on this Vilmer Alriksson. I am going to say he looks like he will be on the big club within 2 years.

Bring back Suter and Blueger. Keep Hoglander.

I tried mentioning this yesterday in the scrollfest that was Nighty. If they're gonna resign Marcus P. then the left side has a logjam. Moving Soucy gives them some extra cap and the roster spot to do so. It makes sense.

You're probably right in that you need to hand onto Blueger, who's signed for another year. Sasson and Raty can fit in on lines 3-4 to gain more NHL experience.

Yes Sasson and Raty can play but they are not as good as Suter or Blueger and Canucks don't seem to have cap issues so I would go with the better players IMO.

I like Suter I think he has a good price tag and is fine as a player.

Thats an absolutely fawking mental comment. We have 2-2Cs, Suter 3C Bluegar 4C.

Lekker is 20 years old - no one can predict his ceiling yet, but my god it's way to early for that kinda thinking. 2G in 11gms with the big boys and 14 in 24 with Abby, lets pump the brakes and give him some room. He's 20....

The real guy to keep an eye on is Mueller and Kudryavtsev.

Boeser is probably not far behind. But yeah, acquiring Marcus P. made Soucy redundant on the left side. Especially if they feel D Petey is close. Which he appears to be.
